On March 1st, I purchased a dozen of their scones to bring to a tea party themed birthday. One of the ladies had either the apple pie of cinnamon scone and TO ALL OUR SHOCK, It had a piece of black rock in it!!!!!! It was so embarrassing and had to slice up each scone to see if there were more. I took photos of it and reached out to HQ. Only for them to get back to me and gaslight me into asking if it was a hard piece of caramel. I laughed. It was black and it was most definitely a rock. They offered only $5 and I declined. It doesn’t even cover 75% of how much I paid for it. Don’t recommend and not ever going back.

The store closes before actual closing time. Make sure to be there 10 mins or more before closing or you won't be served.

Used to be great, but there have been metal flakes in the cheese pullaparts the last few times. They’re visible on the outside of the loaf and strongly affect the taste. Get some new pans maybe?

Been to a lot of Cobs Bakery locations over the years but never a mall location. I understand that rent is probably high but it would be nice if the toppings and such weren't portioned in such a stingy manner. Better yet, when asking a question perhaps a cordial tone would be nice in reply. Instead, was given a very abrasive "Take it or leave it" tone without eye contact or engagement. The cold shoulder matches the coldness of the atmosphere at this location in general.

Delicious fresh baked bread and some baked treats. I love their sourdough bread.

I would rather that you increased price of bread rather than reducing quantity/size of loaf. There has been noticeable “ shrinkflation” in your products.

We came here from Qualicum but showed up just as they were closing up. HOWEVER, Isaac at the till said ‘no problem’, gave us what we wanted (as they have much remaining at the end of the day) and was so helpful to us. He even gave us extra, and he said we didn’t have to pay. What a day. Good job to ISAAC!!!! Give him a raise!!!

Honestly, every time we are in Courtenay we get some treats for the family from cobs. After our last experience there I will be going other places. My grandfather past unexpectedly the night before. Our family of 35 people were all headed to Courtenay or already there. We were grabbing over $100 worth of items, I am sobbing trying to get the order in and apologize to the poor young girl dealing with me how I’m assuming I was hard to understand. She did awesome. She was so patience and polite with me. We pay the bill and I ask if I could get a bag. Honestly they did not offer and I didn’t think of it sooner. The girl was like of course and starts putting it in a bag. Another lady behind the counter who had been watch the whole transaction snips at me In an aggressive tone “just so you are aware bags are .25 cents next time you are going to have to pay for that!” Then she got mad at the younger girl and said you need to remember to offer in an aggressive tone. I reached in my purse and pulled out a quarter. Then I was reminded there was tax on it as well! I’m sorry I spent over $100, I think you could have read the situation and/or said it nicely. I was happy to pay for it. But because of the attitude over a quarter I will be taking my money elsewhere.

Ordered day before for 8:00 pickup. I showed up 15 min late to pickup and they didn't have the order ready. Then told me pickup time wasn't until noon, but it clearly said 8am in the order book. They threw 6 chocolate croissants (that weren't iced) into a big paper bag and then reluctantly put them into a box after I suggested they would probably get squished if they were too fresh to have them iced. Also, shocked at how much it cost. Would have rather gone to Bigfoot Doughnuts but they are closed for two weeks! :(

Even on B.C.DAY opened for realyl bread loving Austrians! Best Bread in Town! Loved the Cinnamon Bun, Croissants, Cheesegrab Bread! What a nice and lovely smile from the lady behind the desk, explaining to foreigners what they do in this bakery! May you live long and prosperity for your profession! Made our day!
