We went to Fluid for Appy hour and it was a really good experience. The dishes were great. 1/2 price wine - thank you very much. Adding the soup and salad was a good choice. The chicken fingers we just okay. We will definitely go back.

The best Caesar salad ever, I had the most unusual looking Reuben sandwich, really delicious and Patrick had a steak sandwich with fried onions on top and the steak was delicious and pink inside! How much was it? Writing a five star review

Great late night spot. The food was delicious and the server was super on the ball. Course it was 10pm... but I've been missing a late night spot that doesn't feel super corporate in the valley.

They had some great happy hour specials as well.

Fluids happy hour is ridiculously amazing! service is always incredible and the best thing is they take dogs on their patio!!! i hate leaving my pup when im out, so being one of the few places in town that allows AND loves your pet just as much as you do is amazing. thank you to the amazing staff for being one of the only safe havens in courtenay that allows your fur babies to eat with you!

Went out for Happy Hour lunch Sunday. Didn’t even take any photos. While our server was friendly and attentive, the food quality was not good. We are from Nanaimo and Fluid would be our go to restaurant when we come up, but seems to really have gone down hill? We ordered the following appies which were half price for happy hour, chili prawns (not bad, nothing special), the dynamite sticks (I remember these being much better?) and a poutine. The poutine was literally cold with cheese curds that tasted “off”. Interestingly I just read another review from someone who ordered the poutine with the same experience “cold and moldy”. I would have been LIVID if I had paid full price for these dishes - we aren’t complainers so we let it go, but likely won’t be back. Now a days you really have to be on your game with serving food to customers, people will happily spend money at your establishment if you serve quality, if not there are lots of places that do.

Wanted to buy a steak with veggies like shown in the photo but showed up just in time to have the doors locked on me. Hard to give you money and a decent review when you won't even stay open or update online open hours... Waste of a drive here. You are sorry for my inconvenience... Like a true Trudeau Canadian. Don't be sorry you don't have to lie lol you don't care. Always apologizing eh.

Your online ordering sucks. It wont let me put in my address for billing so I cant make a take out order. Pos.

Had wanted to stop here when I was in town for work but never got a chance. Flew over to the Courtenay Airpark thats a short walk away and went in for lunch. Drinks were really good, Ancho Ranch wings were different and very good. Carnivore pizza was tasty and had some to take home. With tip, $80

Best happy hour in the Valley! Lovely staff and great food and drinks. Daily drinks specials. Should have gone a couple of years ago :)

Some of the worst gyoza I have ever had. I understand it’s by no means an asian cuisine but the seasoning was OUTRAGEOUS. And how does one mess up gyoza sauce? It was disgusting and really citrusy. The beef also tasted old and defrosted. The only good thing I can say is at least the chicken wasn’t undercooked.. I have never been so disappointed by such a simple meal. The martini tasted like melted red freezies, but with the plastic taste. Unfortunately our server seemed too busy to properly check in and also seemed to have no care to (There were 5 tables it really wasn’t busy.)
My partner was served a cold and moldy poutine (which was taken off the bill thankfully) and then received his chicken Parmesan also cold (and flavourless).
I really don’t like giving bad reviews but this was outstandingly horrible food. Won’t return or recommend

Thank you Jim!
You have made our experience exceptional.
This was a very important occasion for us.
There was an appy that we were not super particular about and you came and helped us make a tasty informed decision without the shame.
You could do a class about service. And this comes from a red seal chef. Thank you Jim and team,, you killed it.

I came here at 8pm on a Sunday. I ordered the nachos and steak frites. Some of the worst pub food I've ever had.

The nachos had the bare minimum amount of cheese. Toppings consisted of mostly canned corn, dry black beans, and a hint of tomatoes and onions. Most of the tortilla chips were not covered in anything. They came with a side of sour cream and salsa.

The steak frites was average at best, and I'm being generous. The steak was cooked to medium instead of the requested medium rare. It was still so dry somehow. It was also the smallest piece of steak I've ever seen at a restaurant. The fries were fine, the only highlight of this meal.

I also ordered the caeser, it was fine. Service was fine as well.

Nachos with no add ons were $28, steak frites was $28, Caesar was $13. After tax and tips, it came to around $84. I wish I took photos of how the food was. I would much rather eat somewhere else.
