If you're planning a large family gathering here, bring snacks. We visited as a party of 14 for a Celebration of Life, having booked our reservation nearly a week in advance. We arrived at 5:00 PM, but didn't see food for over two hours. We weren't sure if the kitchen staff had called in sick, if they were waiting for the tide to come in to catch the fish, or had to personally slaughter the livestock for our order (though the quality of the meal suggested otherwise). Watching other tables eat and leave while our party sat empty-handed was beyond frustrating, especially with three kids in tow. Our waitress did her best to mitigate the disaster with comped appetizers and toys for the children. We were there for a celebration of life but our experience made it seem like an endurance test that left a bitter aftertaste for the place.

Our group of 14 waited two hours from the time we sat down to the time our food came out. The table was reserved ahead of time so this shouldn't have been a surprise. We had a few toddlers with our party, so sitting still for 2 hours did not work for us. Our server did what she could to make it up to our party with comped appetizers and Hot Wheels for the kids. Something wasn't happening right in the kitchen tonight... Some food came out hot, some food came out cold, some meals were incomplete. Our server did her best but unfortunately our party left with a sour taste in our mouth after waiting 2 hours for pub food.

Came here for my birthday because I used to come every year for the free birthday beer (something I’ve received here multiple years in the past). That’s the main reason I chose this place. I understand promotions can change, but I was told this was never something you’ve ever offered—which simply isn’t true and felt like gaslighting.

Instead, we were told $30 would be taken off with the purchase of a meal. One server confirmed that, and another confirmed that even if the meal was under $30, it would still be taken off the bill. So that’s exactly what we did.

At the end, we were told the discount didn’t apply because we shared the meal, and that we’d need to order another meal to get it.

I called the next day to speak with a manager. She seemed confused, said she’d check with the owner, took my number—and never called me back.

Overall, this was inconsistent, poorly communicated, and handled unprofessionally.
