Fries were alright so we're drinks, only concerning part is that they feel they don't have to meet exceptional safety and cleanliness standards, we sat by the fireplace and saw multiple mice while eating. I wouldn't be to upset if they didn't know about the issue, but we decided to let them know on the way out and tender just laughed, honestly I just hope it opposes no risks other than that I just won't spend my money here
Always good food, great prices and excellent service.

Good pub food, very good prices on food and drinks IMO. Great band!
Great food, great service. Good value for the large serving of food. Blackened Halibut and the seafood pork schnitzel was very very good and filling.
Staying in town for work and came here for a quick bite. Very lovely atmosphere and great food. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a cool unique pub!
Great food, but this is sure a run-down neighborhood pub. Very popular.
We are long time residents of the Comox Valley and have many happy memories of the Whistle Stop. Dropped in last Friday as we hadn't been there for a year. It was 12:30 Friday and no one was there. A few people drinking beer and one other couple having lunch. The Fish and Chips were terrible. The Fish was fishy and the batter soft and mushy. The place was very dirty and wonder how it passes a health inspection. The waitress was really nice but not much she could do. Sadly life changes.
Our band stopped in to give a concert at the pub. The staff couldn't have been nicer. They looked after us with a smile. As to the food, I had probably the best turkey club and caesar salad I've ever had. The meals ordered by the other band members looked great too. Special shout-out to Avery and her winning attitude and positive energy This place oozes charm, try it!!
Today, on March 5, 2025, I attended a Celebration of Life for my friend, followed by an after-party. I ordered a virgin Caesar drink and coffee, both of which were amazing. A friend sitting next to me ordered a Cajun Calamari Caesar Salad that looked incredible. After some debate about spending $20, I finally decided to order the salad as well.
It was fantastic! The Caesar Salad was delightful, and you couldn’t even taste the purple onions. The Cajun Calamari, however, was on another level—it was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and not chewy at all. Their homemade tzatziki sauce complemented the dish beautifully.
This entire meal was to die for, and it even came with a piece of garlic toast that was toasted perfectly; it wasn’t too garlicky. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who enjoys seafood—it's phenomenal!
I had never been to the Whistle Stop Pub before, despite living here for 11 years, but I will definitely go back. Our waitress, Sahara, was fantastic; she didn’t even charge me for the coffee, which was greatly appreciated by our group!

Great food, excellent price.
Unfortunately out of the 3 times I’ve tried to visit the pub. It’s been closed even though posted business hours say til 2am. Last night being the last time, was closed by midnight 😕👎🏼
This place condones violence. I was physically assaulted by one of their regulars, and I complained to management and they didn’t ever respond to my complaint
If you value your life, you should avoid this place as they condone violence
