Omg, best portobello mushroom soup ever. Food is delicious, and aside from that, Love the ambience and the services, better than restaurants in Downtown Vancouver and other more. Happy to find this gem

We went to this restaurant because of the 4.6 Google rating. The service was wonderul as was the atomosphere. However, the food was sub-par with the gnocci being overcooked and flavourless despite the description of having gorgonzola cheese in the sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs was equally disappointing.

Popped in for a birthday dinner. Food was good (I'll admit Italian isn't my first choice, but I enjoyed my dish), but not great. However the service was incredibly slow.
We were a larger group (about 12) with reservation, so not a surprise to the restaurant. Got drinks reasonably quickly, but it was almost an hour before they took our food orders.
No follow up on us with getting more drinks (although the water glasses were topped off semi regularly).
Desert menu wasn't dropped off until part of the party had already eaten and left. Not that I wanted any, it just felt particularity awkward when people are paying and leaving. Bit past the point for dessert, no?
Overall, seems like the place is a bit disjointed with the service, but perhaps it was just an off night.

This is a long overdue review. Back in the beginning of October, we wanted Italian food for dinner. We also wanted to go somewhere that we had never been to before. A search brought led me to Illuminaté Restorante. We are extremely glad it did! So, a reservation was made.
Upon entering, we immediately found Illuminaté Restorante to be a comfortable environment with a rustic Italian feel. Obviously, it is a popular place too. We can understand why.
Our meal started off with the Grilled Romaine and the Grilled Calamari to share. Both were outstanding! The Roasted Garlic dressing was wonderful on the perfectly grill romaine. The Calamari was a surprising delight. The hints of orange and pickled fennel took this squid to another level. In a world, awesome!
Our pasta mains were next level Italian cuisine. The Pappardelle al Ragu was by far on of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The Braised Angus Short Ribs and Mushrooms were in a sauce that was out of this world. As for the Spaghetti and Meatballs, one would think “What a basic dish.” This was far beyond basic. Whatever is in their “Family Recipe” is extremely flavourful and delicious. Best meatballs ever.
Of course there was dessert. We shared the Citrus Crème Brule and the Mini Cannolis. The Lemongrass and Citrus was a great edition to this delicious custard. One cannot go to an Italian restaurant without having Cannolis. The Pistachio and Ricotta filling was superb. These mini cannolis rivals those of Mike’s Pastries of Boston.
And then there’s the service. Marie took extremely good care of us. She is very knowledgeable about the menu when we had questions. In chatting with Marie, she told us how much she loves her job and what she does. It shows. It’s always a pleasure to have service like Marie’s when dining out.
So, would I recommend Illuminaté Restorante? Absolute! This is a gem of a restaurant that you don’t have to travel downtown to. We can’t wait to dine there again.

My friend had taken me there for my birthday, and what a disappointment. I had been there about a year ago and had a lovely veal schnitzel style dinner and was looking forward to ordering the same. I was told that the menu had changed so I ordered the veal medallion meal and was really disappointed! The veal medallions were over tenderized, too rare with a texture more like tough hamburger. The gravy was quite watery with a strange flavour. I felt badly for my friend who was treating me as I really found it difficult not to show my disappointment. Overall, I found nothing impressive about this dining experience and have no desire to return to your restaurant. I’ve experienced far better meals and for more reasonable prices in Tsawwassen!

It was our first time at this restaurant. When we noticed such a high Google score we decided to check it out and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing - we had the onion soup to start, the spaghetti and meatballs and the halibut. Best halibut I’ve probably ever eaten and the other dishes were amazing too. We finished with the ganache and needed to be rolled out to the car. Our server Rebecca was amazing (hi Rebecca!), super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Thanks for a fabulous experience. We will be back - highly recommended!

Was going for some cannoli, but surprised by its appetizer and penne sausage! The marinara sauce is greatly balanced and tasty. The mini cannoli’s are absolutely amazing. Love the light creamy texture of its pistachio and ricotta filling! The atmosphere and decor was great too.We sat at the patio with cute turkey lamp.

Old school traditional Italian. Great quality that tasted like home cooking, so simple and well done was the flavours.
This restaurant is better than most of the popular Italian restaurants in Vancouver easily, Tswassen lucky to have such a local gem.
We had the lobster pasta special and baked Bocconcini wrapped in prosciutto.
Will definitely be back and tell ally Friends about you.
We had a bday there and the staff was attentive to those little things for service such as decorating the plates the birthday cale we brought to the restaurant and remembering the flowers. Felt like family, so nice touch on that.
