We were caught unaware of some event which sold out the Castlegar/Nelson area so had to look further afield for a reasonably priced room. The grounds of the Villagers Inn will not instill a sense of confidence or comfort, and the lobby is not much of an improvement. Our check-in was handled quickly by a very pleasant lady who provided us additional information about the hotel. Our room was not plush but most importantly, it was clean and secure. Hotel was okay to lay your head for the night. Not the cleanest rooms but I've seen worse. Lots of stairs to climb up which was tough for my elderly parents. View in the morning was nice!

It's the only place to stay in Fruitvale, the price is reasonable but it's kinda run down. It's fine in a pinch or if u r low income but otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it.
