I now understand the popularity of smittys. Hidden from the main street and at the harbourside, they have a perfect patio for the summer months and a warm inviting interior for the winter months. The food is very flavourful and the portions are modest. The staff make an extra effort to engage with their clients and make them feel at home.We had a platter, made up of three menu choices served on a wood board for sharing. I'm a real fan of ahi tuna, it was perfectly seared on the outside with a lovely fresh soft centre, served with a lemony risotto. The fish and chips didn't disappoint, the fish was moist and flavourful with a light fried batter. Our third choice was the prawn cocktail, six large prawns took the plunge into a fresh cocktail sauce. I would highly recommend Smittys, it's always a great experienceIt's popular so make a reservation or expect a wait!

Seafood to die for! First time trying raw oysters and couldn’t ask for a better place, a mandatory stop if you’re in town. When the dock is closer than a stones throw you know it’s fresh. Drink selection to match the quality of the food and an atmosphere made with love.Service was great and owner an absolute gem, sounds like the staff ate well looked after so it’s exactly the type of small business to support. Not just a business, a local institution.

5 * rating on food, service and ambiance. I've been going there for 8+ years. Cool place on the water, beautiful view. Connor, the chef is very talented. His creations never disappoint! A great selection of oysters. Servers are attentive. They are friendly and welcoming. One of my kids asked me, "so you've been there for lunch and dinner on the same day?" Says it all!

We ordered 4 dozens of oysters for 5 of us to share. They were all so fresh. My favourite was Fanny bay. We also ordered a bunch of other finger food to share. Delicious!!!!

Stafford the owner just seems so out of place here. He was basically unpleasant. They should keep him in the back room. His wife is lovely. The food was ok, beers perfect. Location and everything was great.But…the owner sets the tone. Everyone in Gibsons thinks he can be a real downer. I think he’s a nice guy, but really made our experience less than perfect.I’d hesitate to go back or recommend
Food was great. People were fantastic and very nice and attentive. I really liked the prawns! Fish and chips a little underwhelming but not bad.Only issue was the music was incredibly loud. Might have sat outside if it wasn't so busy at that time but we took what we could get on no notice.Definitely will definitely sail over for a bucket of crab in the future. What an institution.

We ate here a few times while on holiday on the Sunshine Coast. The staff really efficient and friendly. They have to hustle because it’s a busy place. The drinks and food were consistently great. Food was fresh and service quick and professional. We would definitely recommend Smitty’s.

Amazing relaxing delicious dinner. Great staff amazing food and drinks. Great view of the marina . Started with a Caesar drink and Fanny Bay and kusshi raw oysters? lamb pops and shrimp with bread with a glass of Kim Crawford Savignion Blanc. Finished with a key lime custard with whip-cream ?? a big climb back to the car. The area is very steepParking: need to look around for an open spot but only a short walk.

Wild place with a very active atmosphere; ie, the place is packed, food is quick, music is loud and the staff are down to chat. If the food wasn’t absolutely mind blowing it would be easy to pass up for something more chill but after trying it it makes a lot of sense as to why it’s so busy in here. The food: we got the scallops, prawns and mussels. Scallops were the highlight for sure, served on a piece of BBQ pork belly if I remember correctly. Prawns and mussels were great as well. Come ready to spend though; it’s high quality seafood with a high quality seafood price tag. Also got a caesar myself and my wife got the beer they recommended for her food, both spot on. With a salad on the side, $109 after tax and tip.
