This place blows the pants off of Sima across the street. The prices are actually quite similar, but the difference in quality is night and day. California roll was generously filled, the charashi don featured a very good quantity and variety of sashimi, and they even brought us complimentary salmon tempura skewers to start. This is our new go-to for sushi on the coast.
This used to be my favourite Japanese restaurant on the Sunshine Coast, but lately it has lost its formal feeling and the food is not as high quality as before. When I ate there recently, the miso soup was flavourless and the broccoli gomae had changed from its usual rich and thick savoury sauce to something kind of sweet and also rather flavourless. The servers were nice and attentive but too casual. I am disappointed because I used to love supporting this business.
Delicious food & accomodating staff. Chef overheard us asking the waitress about vegetarian options and brought us a complimentary Vegetable Croquette (like a potato croquette but better) on the house. Rolls were great and Yakisoba tasted just like it did in Japan!When we asked what kind of tea we were drinking, the waitress decided to bring us 2 of the tea bags to take home, free of charge!Music sounded similar to what you might hear on the streets of Tokyo, just in Korean...
