Dan was the chef for our weeklong backcountry hut, ski-touring trip in the Esplanade range of the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia January 19th, 2024 through January 26th, 2024. I cannot compliment Dan enough! Such a wonderful variety of well-prepared, gourmet food and meals! Dan does not overlook any details; namely, the main entrees and side dishes were harmonized and simply fit together. Thanks to Dan's delicious and abundant breakfasts, lunch fixings, appetizers and dinner meals I was able to remain strong and fit for the whole week of backcountry ski touring! Add to that, Dan was fun to be around and share time with at dinner and in the field. I would consider myself quite lucky to have Dan be my chef/cook on another GAH trip in the future! Well done, Dan! Bravo!

I had the incredible experience of Dan's cooking while at the Sentry Lodge in the Selkirk backcountry. Dan was our chef for the week and every meal was a delight. From the soup to greet us each day we returned from skiing, our incredible dinners and desserts including powder-snow ice-cream. Dan is a great chef and fun guy to hang out with and make some powder turns. We would love to have him cook for us again. Hope to see you next year!

Dan was our chef for a week-long guided ski touring trip. His food is excellent - way beyond my expectations. His love for feeding people good food is evident. And he can rip a serious ski line before heading in to cook a fantastic dinner!

Dan was our resident chef for a week at Sentry Lodge, a fly-in backcountry ski hut in the wilderness of the northern Selkirks. While Sentry is fairly modern as backcountry huts go, it does NOT have anything close to a real commercial kitchen - basically just the equipment and space you'd have in the kitchen at a typical single family home.And yet somehow, Dan was able to produce incredible food AND tremendous variety over the course of a 7-day trip, with a full hot breakfast and a full dinner every day, plus heavy appetizers and charcuterie galore during apres, and all kinds of good stuff to pack for lunches. And he brought each of us a fresh cup of soup in the boot room every day the moment we got back from skiing. Incredible service!Food highlights included: taco night (crazy good tacos like he makes in his food truck back in Golden), ribs (more than a group of 15 hungry skiers could eat!), salmon (picture attached), and this crazy puffed pastry stuffed with turkey and a whole bunch of other goodness (can't remember what it was called but it was bomb).Top it all off with homemade dessert of some kind every night. And the final stroke of genius was when he made ice cream out of freshly fallen snow!Dan is an absolute wizard, eat his food whenever and wherever you get the chance. And he was also a blast to ski with, and hang out with in the lodge after hours.The best compliment I can pay is that our group is going back to Sentry Lodge again in 2025, and we've already requested Dan to be our chef again on that trip.

We used Columbia River Catering to cater for a family get together in the lead up to our wedding at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. They came up with lots of options for us and we went for an option where they got all the food ready and delivered so we could finish and serve it that night. They arrived nice and early at our house on mountain and helped me get all the finishing coordinated. Everything was packaged and setup really well so it was super easy to warm up and serve. Everyone loved the food and we had tons for everyone plus leftovers. I would recommend them for anyone looking for help catering an event or party in the area. Many Thanks!

Dan and his team at Columbia River Catering catered my wedding this year and they were truely wonderful! I wish I could give them more stars. The food was delicious, the service was amazing and Dan was a great person to work with. Super accommodating! They didn't complain when we were running behind schedule, even though I'm sure it made things awkward for them and they even packed up the tacos that didn't get eaten so we had them the next day. I would definitely recommend CRC to anyone getting married in or around Golden!

I did not have a good experience with Dan and Columbia River Catering. He was very rude when I spoke to him on the phone and he did not seem interested in helping me book his services for my wedding. Overall I did not get a good feeling and didn’t book this company.

I contacted Dan in July, 2021 and let him know of my wedding date and time. I spoke with him on the phone and he had me create a menu for the day. After over 2 months of sparse communication, he wrote to let me know that he had already booked my date. Not once had he let me know in those 2 months that he had others inquiring about the date. He often took a couple of weeks to respond to emails. This company is unreliable and unprofessional.
