Enjoyed our stay, very convenient for our first time at Kicking Horse. The boots warmer is a nice touch! Breakfast bar was great to have free water, juice and food. Private hot tub in the loft was amazing.
Minor criticism is the smaller TV in the deluxe loft is hard to see from the couch. Also the milk has a 3 month old best before date that was a little off putting (was completely safe to drink, but made me feel uneasy)

Highly recommended The Winston Lodge for a ski vacation or a relaxing mountain getaway. The whole lodge is recently renovated and has an inviting and cozy appearance. After a day skiing, the hot tub and sauna are the perfect way to relax and recharge. Location-wise, it’s just a quick 6-minute walk to the gondola and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming.
The bistro is offering outstanding food with excellent price-to-quality value. The atmosphere is lively yet intimate, making it a great spot for dinner or evening hangout.

Nice area, Great place, BAD/POOR Management, *BEWARE* The Lodge Manager likes to creep on you while your in the Hot Tub through his phone. NO coin LAUNDRY accommodation for guest which sucks if you're sking alot or hiking and nowhere close by to do laundry. During the summer, The BAR IS ALWAYS CLOSED, CANT EVEN GET A BEER AFTER MY HIKE or after A long Trip From Driving👎

We had a great experience at Winston Lodge! Reservations and communication prior to arrival were excellent. Rowan, the general manager, was one of the most friendly and helpful hotel people we’ve ever met.
It’s a ski resort in a cozy setting next to a big resort with chair lift and gondola. Our room was spacious, bath up to expectations and the new outside hot tub got used every night. The bed was good for this old guy with a bad back. The light breakfast had multiple options along with coffee and tea. We’ve stayed in three nice places while on this Banff area trip and Winston is our favorite!

I was let down by one of the larger hotel chains and was calling every option available in Golden. Thankfully I got through to the Winston Lodge and recieved fantastic service even though it was past 8pm. I got the last room available which was honestly much much nicer than the chain hotel which let me down. Views and surroundings were amazing. The gentleman at front desk was super helpful and friendly. I would definitly recommend.

Een fantastische plek om te verblijven. Lodge en kamers zijn geheel gerenoveerd en zien er erg goed uit. Gezellige grote lobby met banken, luie stoelen, een haard en een lange eettafel. Managment is betrokken en erg vriendelijk. De plaats is uitstekend om diverse parken te bezoeken (Yoho is 45 min. rijden). De gondels achter de lodge brengen je naar een prachtige top in de bergen vanwaar je kunt wandelen en van het uitzicht genieten. En na een lange dag: lekker ontspannen in de hottub!

Highly recommend a stay at Winston Lodge!
We stayed at the Lodge for 3 nights and definitely would have stayed longer. Rowan and Patrick are the friendliest people you can imagine and made us feel like we are at home. The cozy house is situated in the mountains and the rooms are very modern and clean. You can find everything you could possibly ask for.

Very very few places are on my buckets list where I would like to go back to but Winston Lodge is certainly on my list.We received the warmest welcome yuo could ever hope to recieve and then, as never staying in a wood lodge before, it was really nice to explore the building and get reat for our stay.The rooms were wonderful and the bar and food were great and pleasing aswe did not want to haveo to go into Golden. We only stayed two nights but really enjoyed and the local wolk sanctuary was also a great place to visit.I would love to retuirn one day in the winter with lost of frinds, get snowed in and enjoy the delights of this excellent hotel.
HelloI was there on New Year’s Eve and I would just like to express my concern about the service and/or lack there of.We were only asked for our food and drink order at the start, from there on no communication and then had to ask the bar when our table wanted drinks and then was scolded for not asking the waitress. After that when we asked for the bill with direction of who had what, the waitress left and the chore was put on something else who had no idea what was going on and we further had to communicate the process. Equating to a less then desirable experience.Normally with a busy bar I would never express this concern but with a bar-/restaurant with one 2-3 table filled and the employees visible drinking/taking shots I can’t say they should expect favourable reception form thier patrons.I hope this helps and the manager can guide the new staff to a better experience.Thank youAbsolutely non of that below reply is honest or truthful. It takes a lot for me to write a 1 star review and if you look at my past ones they are 90% positive. Clearly the place was dead on a new years for a reason. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The pictures on the Winston Lodge homepage clearly promise something different than what you get! Price/performance is not right at all. The rooms and terrace are carelessly and not functionally furnished. For example, the refrigerator is in the middle of the closet so you can't use it. We stayed there for five nights and didn't receive room service - only fresh towels upon request. Various holes in the walls in the room were covered with pictures or poorly prepared.The large living room corresponds to the pictures on the homepage and is cozy - we were quite disappointed with our room, except for the bed (which was comfortable).The hotel is okay - but only if you know what to expect. Expectations raised by the homepage and the pictures there will definitely be disappointed!

Suprised to see some low ratings. I thought the place was great. We forgot our room key in the room and they were very responsive to have another one waiting for us when we got back. Great location, nice big common areas, comfy beds. Would definitely stay again when in the Golden area.

Beautiful spot for a family getaway! Great accommodating staff and a wonderful loft suite for a family group. So close to Kicking Horse for coffee, breakfast and dinner, as well as Boo the Bear. And a quick drive to Cedar Lake, Golden and Field.
