My wife took me here as a nice surprise, I love this place! The service was great and the food was delicious! I've been coming here since my grandfather took me as a child, never had a bad experience here. Probieren Sie das Schnitzel!

Food needs more attention. It’s far from German, Austrian authentic schnitzel and red sauerkraut. Taste and quality is different. Price is steep for what you get.
Otherwise it’s cute restaurant with attentive service and the atmosphere is just great.

Quaint spot on main drag. The food we ordered had mixed reviews from our group. The pasta dishes were okay, the Schnitzel was delicious. The steak I ordered was full.of grissle but that is not thier fault..the potatoes were perfectly done. The lamb was the best I have ever had.

This was definitely the best restaurant I've been to in a while! Food was amazing, and since I was here with my family, I got to try several appetizers. The Caesar salad and the Goulash was delicious, the seafood Spätzle was outstanding, it just had so much flavour.
For the main course, I ordered the fillet of salmon, and it was delicious, but the salmon was a bit dry in my opinion. The Béarnaise sauce was the best part, and I wish there was a bit more of it.
Other than the food, I loved the cozy atmosphere inside. The service was really good too, it was relatively fast and attentive. I'll come back here next time I'm in Harrison Hot Springs!
Kid-friendliness: The kids menu has a lot of options!

The place has German pop coming from it, and we were intrigued. We were not disappointed. We all had a different schnitzel. I had the Schnitzel Oskar and it very good. Dessert was the Apple strudel and it was a tad on the dry side, but it was still very good. My daughter tried the Schnitzel Burger and she ate it all! My husband had the schnitzel with bratwurst and he said it was amazing.

Oh my. Soooo disappointed. Waiter was disinterested and aloof.
I ordered the strip loin steak for 50.00. What can I say. The waiter brought me one of those great big serated steak knives and thank god. The steak was so tough, Surprisingly, because it was wafer thin. After tearing through the meat with old Excalibur I made the unfortunate mistake of putting it into my mouth…… had to masticate that thing for a good few minutes for each morsel.
I ordered medium rare and got rare.
Seriously this steak was like one of the steaks you get at a pub or the local rugby club because someone knew someone who ran a butchers.
Save your time and money.
Stay away from

Good food, good service.
We had our first visit to Black Forest Steak and we had a variety of dishes. I recommend the pork hock and the combo of meats 😆

I love this place and whenever we are in Harriison, we make a point of having dinner here. However, this weekend we were there for my birthday and stopped at the restaurant in the early afternoon to make a reservation for later on to get a table on the enclosed patio, and a server, Jason, told us that we couldn't because they didn't take reservations in the patio and it was first come first serve, so we would have to take our chances... so we did. However, when we got there, there was a nice table in the patio that we thought it was perfect and it was empty... And we thought that we were lucky enough to get it. So we told the hostess that we wanted to sit in there and she told us that we couldn't because it was reserved. Of course, that was very upsetting since we were not allowed to reserve a table in the patio, but they had reserved it for somebody else and at the time that we wanted it , itwas empty !! and so quite a conflict developed and shame on the server, who had originally told us that he could not reserve the table for us, his name is Jason, And unfortunately was still serving the section where we wanted to sit. Luckily for us, another server who we have had frequently in our visits there, and is anazing, His name is Trevor, was one more time fantastic and solved the problem by getting us another patio table and actually coming in from the inside of the restaurant to serve our table so that we would not have to be served by Jason, who was super rude and unconsiderate and ruined my birthday( I think that that was his name although it might have been Josh).
The manager was absolutely useless and after everything was resolved and we were happily seated by Trevor he actually had the guts to come and say that he hoped that everything was now going well..... In my opinion, Trevor had more management and people skills than that guy and perhaps they should reconsider his position.
Thanks Trevor for making my birthday dinner a better experience!

Got food poisoning here, owner tried to explain it away rather than apologizing and offering gratuity. Proceeded to say we "don't know how the restaurant industry works" when we both work and have worked fine dining, front and back of house. Typically if your food makes a customer sick you do everything you can to try to remedy that, no? So thanks for refunding the single item after talking down to customers and arguing like a petulant child. Cheers!
