Had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious. I had schnitzel with a mushroom sauce that was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return

Atmosphere and staff were lovely. However, this place is a tourist trap. We paid $84 after tax and tips for 1 appetizer and 1 main. The escargos were great but the combination platter for $49 was pretty basic. Not worth the spend.

I and family are locals often users of this German restaurant particularly in the fall and winter. Last evening my meal specifically was disappointing. I had the Goulash with spaetzle, a favourite of mine, and found the meat to be very stringy and dry. I've had better at this restaurant. My partner had the Schnitzel Champignons and loved it.
I did not bring that up at the time as I did not want to disturb the birthday evening.
Although you were very busy, the service was very good.

Came here with friends and family, for the late lunch time England World Cup game, group of 10. Well seated and served until the extra time.

We've gone 2 of our 4 days vacationing here. Monday night we had an excellent german woman serving us. She was a 5 🌟 waitress. However, tonight we had a man who I regret tipping. Attitude goes a long way & his service was unimpressive 2 🌟. Most of the Food was excellent, but some things were mediocre. I recommend any schnitzel & the apple strudel. It's a family friendly restaurant (loud) with plenty of kids meal choices. Had we only gone once the ratings would be higher.
We had an amazing experience at Black Forest Restaurant! We celebrated both Roham’s birthday and my wife Sima’s birthday here, and everything was absolutely perfect.
The food was outstanding—every dish was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and perfect for a special celebration. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening.
Thank you for helping make our family celebration so memorable. We highly recommend Black Forest Restaurant to anyone looking for authentic German food, excellent service, and a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be coming back!

Ummm so ya don’t go here. The staff was so rude, didn’t crack one single smile. Didn’t make eye contact when talking to us. Snatched the menus off the table when we said we just want drinks and no food. The restaurant was dark, dingy and tiny. The drinks were rank and had about one tablespoon of alcohol in each of them. Don’t go here babes save your coin

I’ve never had German food before, but I really enjoyed our meal from this place. The pork hock really surprised me, it was tender and crispy at the same time. Service was decent. If I ever come back to Harrison hot springs, I will visit this restaurant again and try other items.

A very suitable experience for the setting! Reminded me of being in the Alps, enjoying a hot meal after exploring the mountains asked l and lakes! Food was great, service was superb. The strudel is VERY good. 10/10 dining experience in Harrison.
Another great find and we were well treated by the wait staff, who served with impeccable skill.
I had the Jaeger Schnitzel plate (that’s the one with no breading) and loved everything about it. It was served with Spatzle in mushroom sauce, roasted carrots and broccoli, and cooked red cabbage.
My pal opted for 3 appetizers - Caesar Salad, Prawns Pernod, and Black Forest Mushroom Caps. 2 of those were a bit disappointing: no Pernod flavor detected, mushroom caps were tiny, served in a dish generally used for escargot, lots of melted cheese on top.
My apologies, I can’t remember what our friends ordered. But one of them found a small bit of plastic wrap on the underside of the entree. We think perhaps that item had been created, then wrapped and frozen to be heated before serving.
That certainly did not interfere with our enjoyment of the meal.
The establishment was kind enough to give us dessert on the house. And if you know German food that apple strudel with ice cream was perfection.
So good we ordered the Black Forest Cake too (and paid for it.)
You cannot go wrong here. We even sang a song in German from our college days while we awaited our dinner. No one seemed to mind.
