Not sure why the low rating but probably the 'gwailos' who don't understand Japanese dining. The food was surprisingly very good and better than some Vancouver restaurants I've been to. Restaurant was very clean and the service is great. The nice old lady was not rude at all like what some reviews mentioned, I mean if you aren't wearing your mask and you don't want to follow protocols during covid then get out of their restaurant. Old lady server was super nice and sweet. I highly recommend you try first before you judge the place. Legit japanese dining.
Authentic Japanese cuisine. Both presentation and food quality are excellent. The place is neat and tidy. Reasonable price. Impressed.
Sashimi was fresh and Ebi Sunomono was nothing I've had before. The entrance was dark and cluttered but we dined at the patio. The nice scenery was such a different experience than the inside. The service was great.
Staff is friendly and honest/upfront about longer wait times is you don’t make a reservation. The food is very good and fresh, worth the wait.Highly recommend if your looking for an intimate setting where time isn’t the priority.Very clean and calm atmosphere, I enjoyed this place.
Everything we had was fresh and extremely tasty. From sashimi to vlocan rolls, chicken with chilli sauce. Great value too and would highly recommend.
Decent quality sushi, a good spot to fix the craving if you’re around the area
Excellent food, the service was friendly. My sashimi and nigiri was excellent and the chicken in my boyfriend’s rice bowl was really tender. Definitely will come back again.
Beautiful presented bento boxes sitting on the deck with a view of the breathtaking back drop of the Miami River…it’s a must try while in Harrison. All natural and fresh ingredients with some gluten free options.
4 of us ... we were the only 2 tables when we got there after 7pm. Was very quiet. Later more people arrived. The standard of food can match other Japanese restaurants in Vancouver! So thumbs up! Run by a husband and wife team...I suspect. They are very quiet folks! I would recommend this place any time!
It was temporarily closed when we went by early in our visit but we were excited to see the open sign on Thursday night. Kids loved their miso, avocado rolls & California roll. I had a couple of different rolls that I enjoyed and the toro sushi was good. Would definitely go back based on our experience.

Good food! But i wouldn't go back again. the owner (older lady) is not very friendly. It felt like, the lady didn't want our business. Slow service!. Our bill came up to $400 something and she reminded us about 18% tips when they refused to give us a bigger table and the service was bad. It's like she was doing us a favor by feeding us. I wouldn't recommend, but again we all have our own opinions, maybe some will get better service.
Food tastes great! Just need to wait patiently for about 30 minutes for the first dish.
Not sure why this place has such a low rating. The woman who helped us was so lovely. We got the Kitami Gozen Box.- Sashimi is fresh- California roll has a lot of avocado- Teriyaki chicken has crispy skinThey were so sweet in accommodating my super picky boyfriend too! He asked for no sesame seeds on his California roll and they didn’t put it on his teriyaki chicken and made him a Mayo dressing to replace the sesame dressing for his salad. I will say I pay less for the same quality back in Vancouver, but there’s a markup for everything all around town.
Reviews really doesn't give an accurate rating for the quality of food served nor service. We stayed in the area and was expecting tourist style food. But Kitami sushi completely took us off guard with their freshly made sushi.Sashimi was very fresh and cut to perfection. The Nigris is where the chefs skills shine. wow.Two thumbs up for the skills and taste.Rolls aren't my favorites as I've tried so many but def good.if you want to be amazed, order the nigri and sashimi.you won't regret. We came late at night around 8pm and the lady was very delightful. took our take out order and was efficient.I can't believe this place is only 3.6 star Google review.I read the bad reviews and most of them were because people didn't want to follow covid protocols to wear a mask?????? Common really ?I just want to thank the owners for this very amazingly authentic quality japanese food.Truly a gem in the Harrison.... even in the Vancouver area to be tried. We will be back for sure 100%
This place exceeded our expectations and offer delicious authentic Japanese sushi. This owners of the restaurant were kind and gracious! They allowed us to dine-in prior to the dinner service. The sushi was delicious and fresh. I will definitely be going back!
