New Golden Star Restaurant

Great food. Always wonderful. Prices have increased with the economic inflation but not as much as some places. Still reasonable.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of seating. We had a family gathering one day. Recently, I stopped by to pick up dinner. The owners are friendly.

Drive home from Okanagan to Vancouver took longer than expected so this was our unplanned dinner stop. What a pleasant surprise!The freshness of the vegetables here are unlike any other Chinese restaurant I've been to. No funky or slightly off veggies here like most other places. My partner says it's also the best sweet and sour pork he's ever had in his life. Definitely western Chinese food, but done right. A bit of an odd stop-by when travelling through with family. We had an electric vehicle and needed to stop and charge, and even on a Friday night in August the town was pretty closed-down even near 9 pm. We popped into Golden Star as they were closing up and ordered take out. Dinner for two with two sodas.
