Local, family-friendly restaurant, location is close to campus, they give generous portions when ordering.
Extensive menu w/affordable options and portions for what you get, prices/value is comparable to some places in Vancouver or Calgary.
Food may taste bland for some compared to Western dishes, so adjust accordingly depending what you order. However, their cooking technique is superb - dishes are not oily, and no MSG added in their dishes. Stick to simple, classic Chinese-diner style dishes, like fried rice, Singaporean-style vermicelli, stir-fried beef w/flat rice noodles.

One of the best options for Chinese food around the UBCO campus. My friends and I have been quite frequently and honestly, if you know what to order, the food is very good.

Good food, and service. I have been a fan of their Ginger Beef and sesame balls. We recently went for lunch and we noticed they had new menu items, that is more Authentic. We tried Griddle Cook Spicy Pork Belly, Beef Brisket with Bean Curd Sticks Hot Pot, and Spicy Minced Pork with Tofu Hot Pot.

After trying 241 eateries in Vernon, I have been trying more places in Kelowna.
On Sunday night I flew from Vancouver after the Sun Run to Kelowna. Before taking the bus home to Vernon, I had 50 minutes at UBCO to spare waiting for the bus.
I grabbed brunch at Golden Island Asian Cuisine.
The server was really friendly and helpful. She came by to frequently fill up my water.
I had combo for one (A). It was $22 after tax and tip.
I really enjoyed the taste.
The deep fried pawns did taste more on the fluffy side than on the crispy side.
Chow mein could have more vegetables mixed in.
Overall I really enjoyed my meal and would gladly eat here again the next time I find myself at UBCO.

This restaurant definitely deserves its rave reviews. Wow! I got the combo for one with sesame chicken, beef chop suey and chicken fried rice and it was so good. The portions are huge and they are very well priced. This is 100% my new go to for Chinese food. Give them a try. You won't regret it. (My pictures don't do the combo justice, but I like to see what food looks like before ordering and I know others do as well)

Food was very sugary.. very bland..kind of burnt.. very small portion for the amount you pay! We still ate it, was edible. Lady server was nice but would also be nice if she stopped staring at us while we were eating lol felt uncomfortable and we felt rushed to eat and get out. Was shockingly hard to find the place. It was tucked away in the building. Came off the plane and this was the closet place to eat Chinese. Would not eat here again but don’t let me stop you from trying it yourself!

So nice to find a spot for Northern Chinese food in Kelowna! Food and service was excellent! Will definitely go back.
It was my first time here. The war wonton was very good and Singapore noodles where excellent. After that the the rest was ok. Chicken chow main didn't have any chicken but the flavor was good the veggie dishes had no flavor. So I guess it depends on what you like. Will I go back..Definitely the war wonton was the best I've had in a long time and the Singapore noodles again are excellent. All and all I would suggest this place.

Got food from here tonight and it was some of the worst Chinese food i’ve ever had. Very overcooked and tasted like old oil. I ended up having to chuck out most of it because I could not eat it. I’m so sorry but this was bad :( Had high hopes based off the reviews
