We have been frequent customers over the last several years. This is the first time in a while we’ve ordered with the new owners and our pizzas tonight have me quite convinced that too many corners are being cut.
Hansens was always premium priced. But you got a premium product. When you wanted top notch pizza, you knew the extra $$ was going to be worth it.
Two major problems with our order today that has me doubting we’ll be sticking with Hansen’s. 1) the cheese, and 2) the chicken.
The cheese choice and cooking was terrible. Opaque, with a terrible melt and browning (as in none at all). A 17% mozza should have some spot browning. A Hansen’s pizza should have actual caramelization from previous operators blending the part skim with a higher fat MZ if I remember correctly. Ours had nothing. No sign that it was even in a deck oven. Ultimately, Domino’s is producing a better product for much less with at least cooking it properly.
Chicken. For a $30 pie, I expected and got real chicken at Hansen’s before. Today we got chicken loaf. It tasted like it and had the Little Caesar’s grade texture. Which is fine when their pies are ~$15. Loaf isn’t acceptable at $30+.
Overall we’re left very dissatisfied and even more disappointed. We don’t order out too often so this was a major bummer.

I’m in Kelowna visiting family and found this awesome pizza place called Hansen’s. Their Tuscany pizza insane! The fresh spinach and roasted garlic really makes it so flavourful! The crust is perfect. Surely, the best pizza I’ve had in ages. If you are in Kelowna, go Hansen’s and try it. You won’t regret it!

The Bacon cheeseburger pizza used to be a favourite of mine, but it seems to have gone downhill. the pickles were chopped in such large chunks that they overpowered everything else on the bites which did include them, and the use of sweet pickles was not what I expected or used to love about this pizza. Ended up picking them off and found thay a few of them were accompanied by pickled cauliflower and pickled onions, as if they just used a sweet pickle medley they randomly picked off the shelf and did not think to themselves whether the flavour would ruin the pizza.
Ordered the Greek and bocconcini salad as well which were bland and did not contain any dressing. The Bocconcini was supposed to come with basil, but seemed to have instead been substituted for spinach.
Delivery driver did not offer any change either although I had planned on leaving the rest as a tip anyway, but found the lack of an offer to be a bit off-putting.
On a positive note the delivery came faster than expected.
This used to be my favourite pizza place and my favourite pizza from them but sadly, it is just not what it used to be. I had heard there was a change in ownership at some point but it is sad to see a place which was once so immaculate go downhill like this.
I will probably end up getting something else to eat and just throwing this stuff out or give it to a homeless person. I'm sure they would rather have the $60 I spent on this as well.

Hansen's Classic Pizza in Kelowna nails it! Perfect crust, sauce & cheese. Staff's super friendly & on point. Cozy vibe, fresh ingredients. Def coming back! Must-try classic pizza!
