Shady Rest Fish & Chips

The fish is fresh and well prepared, the batter is tasty but lacking salt. Disappointed that a fish and chip shop with a very small menu wouldn't serve real tartar sauce and lemon wedges with their fish. The fries don't come salted, but at least they were truly hand cut! Unsure if they offer salt, vinegar or ketchup to go. Would've been nice but I didn't ask, so that's on me. Staff were friendly.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of food I received. I honestly think this is the worst fish and chips I've ever bought before. Photo speaks for itself, way overcooked, old oil by the looks, barely even any fish under the batter. Chips not much better.

Staff were friendly but opening this when arriving home was pretty sad.

The only place in Kelowna for amazing fish and chips. The service is always fast and friendly, and you can’t forget about the prawns because they’re just as good.

I have driven by for years but never went in
I think a store owner should address any negative reviews
It would show some belief in his business
So for now I think I will still keep driving by

It wasn't bad but we just spent a month in the uk and this did not compare to the proper fish and chips in England.

Iam steady customer for many years .
Today October 8.New person was in the kitchen. To my surprise the two cod I took home The better was so thick and soggy over the fish I was not able to eat the rest .of the fish .
I’m very disappointed today.

Pretty disappointed, handful of chips, overly greasy, soggy batter and burnt chips. Not what you expect for around $40!
We have been coming here a while but the last couple of times haven’t been great.
This time really took it the Micky, such a shame as it had such a good reputation.

Moved to kelowna after spending 15 years in victoria and this is my favorite fish and chip place ive been to. Quality cod and chips, coleslaw is very good, and nice tartar sauce. The value is good as well, dont feel like the prices are too high like a lot of places these days. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for a 2pc cod and a 2pc halibut, our favourite was the halibut! Thick cuts of perfectly cooked fish in deliciously greasy batter with classic chips - it’s a classic for a reason!

Great little neighbourhood shop- so hard to come by in this day and age 💖

I grew up in Victoria, BC and didn't realize how hard it was to find good fish & chips until I left. Shady Rest is the closest I have found. Great halibut in a golden crispy batter. And excellent coleslaw. It ain't fancy but it's done right
