Shady Rest Fish & Chips

very crispy fish and chips yet easy to chew and stick with a fork. first time here but definitely worth coming back

They have a limited menu and it's been the same handful of items forever, which is fantastic. It's a perfect little place to get British fish & chips.
It's mostly a take-out shop, with only a few tables inside and out. Good fast service by good people.

First time trying this new little spot and it was truly a great meal. The fish was crispy even though we didn’t consume it right away. The chips were awesome even the coleslaw was good. Well worth the money and so glad I found this little hidden gem. Spoke with someone from England and they said it was as close to as good as home. Not sure what to make of that but if they were having dinner there it must be worth it. What is so great is that it’s local and it feels good to support our local food scene as much as possible. I do not think you will be disappointed if you come check this place out.

Fish was so fresh. The batter was perfect. Not too thick and not soggy. The home fries were perfection. I grew up in Newfoundland and my some of my Family were cod fishermen so I can verify this was TOP NOTCH.

Some of the best fish and chips you can get in the Okanagan Valley and the interior of BC. The batter is super crispy without being too greasy. The chips are also not super greasy too. Love the vintage mom and pop vibe in the restaurant

The ladies working there were so kind and considerate.

First time ever going there and the service and the food was amazing and the news paper clippings they have talking about how long they have been open and it shows this is the best fish and chip place I have ever gone to I will be back. Also the fish and chips for take out are wrapped in news paper it was and experience I have never had this place is a 10 out of 10 just amazing

Just found this spot today while biking and happy I stopped in! The lady's working there are extremely welcoming, the restaurant has a great little feel to it and the food is.... AWESOME! Call me old fashioned but if my fish and chips come in newspaper, like it did here, I'm already sold! Great job guys will recommend forsure.

Just like I remember fish & chips in the sixties.

The chicken strips were SOOOOOOO good. And I like the way they do takeout and show off the old menu and facts.
