The staff at Broken Anchor was very accommodating by seating us at the end of the day! Daniel was extremely hospitable, introduced us to some amazing food, fish and chips oysters on the half shell and some of the best fried fish I’ve had in a long time!! Would recommend this place to my friends and family hands down!

Broken Anchor Cafe and Catering is a cozy spot that has been a favorite for years, especially for those with gluten-free needs. The owner is known to be friendly and passionate about the food served. The Cod dish remains a popular and delicious choice, and the fish is noted for being fresh and of high quality. The fries are a must-try, particularly the dirty fries, which are described as to die for. Customers appreciate the thin and crispy batter on the fish, including both Cod and halibut. The fish is always crisp and never oily or soggy, and the cafe offers dedicated fryers to ensure gluten-free options. The staff are amazing, helpful, and provide quick, friendly service, making the dining experience enjoyable. The cafe also offers wine, beers, and cocktails, with a happy hour featuring many great choices. Visitors often buy seafood from the shop next door, such as scallops for tacos, and enjoy the fantastic sourdough bread from the bakery. Despite being a very small restaurant, it has a ramp and accessible bathroom, making it easier for those with mobility aids to visit. The restaurant plays music from the 1940s to 1960s, adding to the cozy atmosphere. It also features a dedicated Celtic deep fryer and offers gluten-free fried chicken, fish, and tempura. Housemade soda is available, providing more drink options. The restaurant is praised for its clean environment, reasonable prices, and impressive presentation of fried food. Many customers find the food so good they would consider moving into the dining room. Overall, Broken Anchor Cafe and Catering is recommended for a tasty meal, especially if you’re in the mood for crunchy fish and delicious fries.
