So we ordered Soup Kao Piek for takeout and brought it home. I didn’t get to eat it that night because I wasn’t feeling well, so we just put the bag straight into the fridge without checking. The next day when I opened it I realized they had not packed the noodles and soup separately. All the soup had evaporated, and the noodles were thick and clumped together. Why wouldn’t they pack it separately like Pho? I was so disappointed because I was really looking forward to it. Luckily I had canned chicken broth to add but it still tasted horrible. It was completely ruined. I always go to this place but this was my first time ordering takeout.

I went in to order lunch.
The first thing I said was, “Table for one — is the lunch special on?”
The waitress said yes.
I ordered the Pad Khing, and it was way too salty, even for me — and I love salt.
Anyway, I ate it because I didn’t have time to ask for something else.
The lunch specials are $18, but my bill came to $23. I was confused, but I paid. Then I realized something was off. How did I end up paying almost $30 for a lunch special?
I asked to see the menu, and sure enough, the lunch special I asked for was $18 and comes with a salad and a spring roll — which I never received.
I asked for a refund and specifically requested it back on my debit card, but they refused and gave me $5 in cash instead. On top of that, they made me feel bad for even pointing it out. When I asked about the missing salad and spring roll, the host said, “You ate everything?”
Well, of course I did — I trusted the waitress to bring the lunch special I ordered. Instead she said, “Oops, I thought you meant dinner.” Like… who has dinner at 1 p.m.?!
Anyway, rude service, salty food — not coming back.

Had the Lao Platter and the Laap.
The food was rather delicious and very unique flavourings. The meat was delicious! I told them to make it authentic spice level and it surprised me how spicy it was but still very delicious.
The service was super slow. We got seated right away and the restuarant was about half full. It took at least 40 minutes for our meal after we ordered, and another 20 for dessert. Overall almost 2 hours just to eat dinner. Our waiter was friendly, except we barely saw him. It was the bartender (?) that made the rounds making sure we were okay. Wasn't impressed at all about the slow service given the restaurant wasn't full.

The tom khem is really good and the thai ice tea is decent. Service isnt bad although they initially forgot our drinks. Would come again to try their other dishes.
I’ve been a customer of Naka Bistros for many years. My family & I used to love dining at or ordering from this restaurant.
The last few times I have visited however the overall experience has been poor. I visited today with my family of 6. 3 of which were my young children, all under the age of 10. The server we had seemed new & very in experienced. I am a Pescatarian. I specifically asked for no chicken in any my dishes. I was presented with two chicken dishes. Food was remade & came out tasting average.
I was then charged for substituting the chicken for tofu. Isn’t tofu cheaper than chicken? Why am I being charged? The best part.. They added on 20% gratuity onto my bill as there were 6 of us. 3 of them were children & my food was screwed up twice yet gratuity is being added. What am I grateful for? I asked to speak to the manager, she refused to come out as apparently she was ‘cooking’ despite it being near to the restaurants closing time. I don't know what happened, but this restaurant is not what it used to be. I will not be returning any time soon!

Really great food, the yellow curry is full of flavour and has become a firm favourite. Service was excellent and the place was steady with customers. I think although a lovely place it’s a little lacking in atmosphere, I’m not sure how you change that, perhaps livelier music although if the music was louder then it might distract from the conversation. All in all this is a great little hidden gem.

The food is excellent, restaurant is very nice inside. The staff is friendly though slightly slow/inattentive but not horrible. We've been here a a couple times and had take out from here a few times, we will keep coming back.

I had a late lunch yesterday, got there 45 minutes before they closed. I ordered the chicken pad Thai lunch special and asked them to reduce the sauce and that made it much less sweet, it was great! The spring roll was still hit, so I knew it was freshly made. Service was excellent.

I have loved this restaurant for years, I was super disappointed. Crab Rangoons were sold out as well as the Thai sausage. It was my birthday dinner so I was so excited. Server was lovely but confused and overwhelmed. Party of 6 and ordered our appies which she mixed up. As soon we got our appies we barely had time to eat them and we got our main courses. Then they brought us appies we did not order. Our prawns were a no show. The chicken satays were overcooked and dry. My Guava margarita had salt on the rim even though I said no salt and had to switch my drink with my son. They no longer have an appie platter😒. They automatically changed a 20% tip on our bill because it was 6 people without telling us when we made the reservation. The table was right in front of a giant flat screen which was really annoying. Music was totally loud and obnoxious and it was like being in a Vancouver nightclub. It was hard to talk because the music was so loud. The food was good but not as good as it used to be.
