Bennett Bay Bistro Reviews
We love the bistro, everyone who works at the bistro is amazing. Can’t think of something bad to say about the bistro since it’s really just amazing and always will be. Always has been. 10/10
Absolutely top notch food. We ate here two days in a row when the vax passes first came into effect and they were very busy. Day 2 they said it was a good thing we had reservations. The quality of the food was fabulous and the prices were extremely reasonable. The ambience is spectacular, drink menu hilarious, and staff friendly and competent. I highly recommend this restaurant!
My husband has had the lamb lollipops so many times I have lost count and each time they are perfect! I absolutely love the wharf side burger!
This is a busy, busy place that is always open! Community minded and committed to feed Mayne… rain or shine, power on not, short staffed or not, committed.
Thank you for always being there for this Island.

Bennett Bay Bistro is a scenic spot to dine, especially if sitting outside overlooking the sea. The location is stunning, surrounded by rocks and calm waters, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The service is generally friendly, with attentive staff that enhances the dining experience. The setting offers beautiful views, and the food includes popular dishes like the Duck Sammy, Seafood Chowder, Beef Dip, Fish and Chips, and Homefried Chicken.
The Duck Sammies are appreciated for their crispy skin and cherry preserve, while the Seafood Chowder is praised for its generous portions of flaky fish and rich, buttery broth. The Beef Dip is served in large portions, though the dipping sauce sometimes comes in a small container. The Fish and Chips can be underwhelming, with batter and sauce that may not meet expectations. The Fried Chicken has received criticism for having more batter than chicken, but overall, the dishes tend to be enjoyed by many visitors. The salmon, especially when served as a salmon burger, has also received positive feedback for its large portions and tasty flavor.
Recent reviews indicate that the restaurant struggles with water quality, which was described as having a bad smell, though this did not affect the food. The French Dip Handheld with truffle fries was highlighted as outstanding, and the Wharf burger and Calamari Salad received praise for their taste. Despite some concerns, Bennett Bay Bistro remains a popular place for its stunning views and good food, making it worth a visit when in the area. Unfortunately, there are recent sad news regarding the restaurant, as the current operators have been asked to leave after many years of service to the community.
