“I mean...this is like getting pizza from a speakeasy. How cool is that?!?Crust is a bit too sweet for me, but my partner thinks it's perfect. Service is fast and friendly, pies are just as good for breakfast as they are for dinner. What more can you ask for?”
“This place had interesting frozen pizzas they could cook in 5 minutes that weren't too bad. Other fried convenience store type food available as well. Most important was that it was open until 11.”
“It's typical western style chinese. Though it is simple, it is excellent quality. You can tell Raymond, the owner, cares about what he puts out. I grew up in McBride, and have since lived in Vancouver and Halifax and this is better than many western style Chinese restaurants even in those big cities. Raymond always uses good cuts of meat, good quality seafood, he NEVER cheaps out or cuts corners. His sauces are seasoned just right. Everything is cooked just right. The fried rice is never overcooked, he manages to make it stay perfectly fluffy. the vegetables are perfect, with a bit of crunch still left to them. Even on buffet nights, He's constantly changing out stuff, he never lets it sit for a long time like other restaurants in the city.Kid-friendliness: Entire families have been going to Raymond's restaurant for decades. Kids of all ages.”
“Right. This is a proper pub. Good local brew beer on tap. Food is good. Had the burgers. Burger patties could be better, bit overcooked. Buns and aoili spot on, fries great. Absolutely coming back and looking forward to trying other menu items.”
“This place is definitely worth the very small detour off Highway 16 into McBride. The coffee is very good and the breakfast bagel and pastrami sandwich we took to go were excellent. Just like homemade.”
