A great little get away from the hustle. A short ferry ride from Nanimo. It has a great cafe with delicious food. Beautiful hiking trails, tons of space to picnic and play and miles of quiet Beaches!
Newcastle Island is a hidden gem, a little slice of paradise and the Café is awesome! Best ice cream selection and the burgers are delicious! I highly recommend getting the yam fries as a side. This place is so cute and convenient!
We got stuck in an unintentional wait of over an hour for the boat and didn't intend to eat on the island, but when you have hungry teenagers, you do what you have to do, which in this case is eat at the local monopoly. Ended up spending $90 for 3 meals and the food was decent with the fish and chips really tasty, but the salad was overdressed and tasted like a pile of creamy coleslaw.
