“Very impressed with this restaurant, the food was yummy, especially the salt and pepper tofu. We ordered take out, but the restaurant itself when we picked up our order was clean and bright, and the staff, who I believe were the owners were very friendly. They’ve been there about a year and we wish them good luck moving into their second year. Would definitely recommend. Although we spent more than usual for Chinese food, it will easily give us a nice left over meal.“

“One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! We come here at least once or twice every month. I once brought a Vietnamese elder who immigrated to Canada 60 years ago from Vancouver — he spoke Vietnamese with the server, who recommended the Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese ham, beef brisket, pork balls with vermicelli in hot spicy soup). He said it tasted truly authentic, just like what he used to have back in Vietnam.

My personal favorite is the Bun Cha Ca Rau Can Doc Mung (fried fish cake with vermicelli in soup). The broth has tomato with a slightly sour and sweet taste — very appetizing! All the other dishes are delicious too, and the snacks are freshly fried, not pre-fried. Highly recommended!“

Our server Dani was genuinely very warm, caring and friendly. The manager Sean was really great too. Rachel at the hostess podium was very nice as well. It was a very good experience thanks to these three awesome staff members.

“As a former Vancouver resident, I was on the hunt for a great sushi spot on the island, and Umai sushi hits all the right notes. The fish is always fresh, making the hour-long trip from my place well worth it. Even when they made a rare mistake with my order, the owner’s personal apology and credit demonstrated their excellent customer service. Having ordered from here many times, I can say with confidence that it’s a fantastic choice for your sushi cravings. I highly recommend it.“

“Delicious place for Brunch. Had their Pulled Pork pancakes, so great. My wife had their hash and was very happy with it. If we are back in town, we would definitely be back. Place can be VERY busy, and it's seat yourself, so keep that in mind, especially on a weekend or long weekend.“

“My wife and I went to the food court in Woodgrove Mall, Nanaimo a few days ago. We chose the three choices meal from the Manchu Wok. We chose Sweet & Sour pork, Salt & pepper fish and Honey & Garlic chicken accompanied by vegetable fried rice. There was plenty for the two of us. “Good food good service but too noisy for my taste. I understand that's a sport bar but when you look at the clientele it's not just a bunch of young men and women. It would be nice if they would try to accommodate a variety of clientele. Despite all the positives I'll not go back because when I go out with friends I want to be able to enjoy my visit and to have a nice conversation without having to worry about an annoying noise level.“
