“We came on Saturday of the long-term weekend to celebrate 3 things, my girlfriend's birthday, my graduation from college, and my engagement. The waitress, whose name I can't remember, that helped us on the patio was fabulous. Very friendly and excited for our celebration. When the bill came they paid for the first round of drinks to celebrate with us.

“Food was great arrived promptly and was freshly made. We had the tempura prawns which were nicely crunchy but very tender inside. Then we had a vegetarian dragon roll and it was superb and beautifully prepared. Also fried tofu cubes. The menu is quite extensive and many diners were enjoying the bento boxes which sounded great! They also have a takeout cooler with preprepared sushi that you could grab and go. This is a must try approachable and friendly japanese restaurant. Recommended.
Went back a month later and due to my food preferences had almost the same meal. But this time ordered the yam and prawn tempura. Wow the yam rounds were huge with a very non greasy crunchy exterior and perfectly cooked yummy interior. They were giant coins of yam.. highly recommended. Also for the exams this time and the serving was quite large! A good counterpoint to the fried tempura.“

“Out of the pub/lounge venues in Nanaimo, they were the quickest to respond to our request to reserve a table of 20. Our group had a great time socializing and enjoying good brews. My personal favourites were the Radler (mango, pineapple, lime) and Ciders (Rum based and cranberry based). Great atmosphere, easy to socialize, staff were great. “The service was excellent, and the outdoor seating was really nice. However, the food was a bit disappointing compared to the service and atmosphere. The sangria and limoncello were just mediocre. While the halibut with fruit salsa exceeded my expectations, the salmon was underwhelming—it didn’t taste fresh and lacked flavor. The turmeric-infused rice also felt a bit dry. Looking around at other tables, the Cobb salad or fish and chips might have been a better choice.“

“My wife and I went to the food court in Woodgrove Mall, Nanaimo a few days ago. We chose the three choices meal from the Manchu Wok. We chose Sweet & Sour pork, Salt & pepper fish and Honey & Garlic chicken accompanied by vegetable fried rice. There was plenty for the two of us. The meal was very tasty and enjoyable and represented excellent value for less than C$ 15. Staff were very helpful. I'll be going there again!“

“Service was great, food is always good - SO LOUD it is always so difficult to hear and we had to shout at the table. The music is loud which makes people talk louder and it is just not pleasant. I love the renovations that were done, looks great. Not sure what you can do about the noise level, it is a deterrent for me to go in.“

“I love the burito bowl here. I was recently introduced to felafel by Domma who is one of the staff here. As a fast-mexican food chain it has a good range of options and my second best is the burito.

The staff here is good and enthusiastic. I would like to mention Domma who always takes the initiative to have a conversation and always keeps a smile and recommends options if asked for specific food choices; for me its substitute for veggies or sauce as I'm a vegetarian.

Overall my experience is pleasant here.“
