I'm writing this review because I think that we should all be aware of the impact using AI so casually has.

Recently I noticed that the Dominion Cafe has started to promote their shop using posts very obviously done by AI (and not well done at that), which was not something that I at all expected from a small local business. I always love to support local, but this is not at all what Nelson stands for. We care about our environment, we don't support contributing to the billionaires that fund genocide, and most of all we support small. This blatant use of AI is so horribly ignorant (or just outright uncaring) that I find it hard to believe based on these posts that The Dominion truly stands for any of these things.

If anything, I urge the owners to take a look at what message they are sending to the local community and hope they reconsider their use of AI. We love to see genuine, real people on our feeds and in our daily routines, not AI slop.

We came here for breakfast, the baristas are so sweet! The atmosphere was amazing, it’s quiet if you need to work or just want to read. I got a 16oz Iced Vanilla Chai and an Egg and Cheese Croissant. My Fiancé got a 16oz Hot Matcha Latte and a Turkey Bacon Melt.

I love this cafe. Each new owner has brought a new energy, but they always maintain a strong gluten free option and dairy alternatives. I love to spend time in the space and enjoy the quiet feeling.

Food was tasty and fast. We rolled into town hungry last minute right before they closed and we were saved with delicious soup and sandwiches!

Great staff and yummy food! I really enjoy their breakfast sandwich on a croissant and their ginger molasses cookies are nice and chewy. They also offer seasonal drinks and treats. A cute little café you should make sure to check out!

Server was happy to help customize a wrap to be vegan for me. It was divine! Also, their vegan baked treats were very tasty. Highly recommend!

Nice breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe. The food wasn't haute cuisine or anything, but it was tasty and homey. It's more of a classic diner, which was what I was looking for. Service was friendly and fast. I'd go there again.

Vegan options are limited but the staff member helping me recommended a swap to make a vegetarian sandwich vegan-friendly. When in doubt, ask!

Been waiting for 35 minutes for a sandwich..... only to be told after that time that they were out of the cheese. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait for sandwiches but for the price I paid I expected way better service! I'm about ready to demand a refund
