Pretty ruthless and horrible to fire an indigenous employee for 'not fitting in' over the phone on Truth and Reconciliation Day and a week after they lost someone important to them. The food is good, but the aftertaste of the owner's complete lack of tact and compassion ruins it.

I’ve wanted to return to The Outer Clove for years; having a chocolate chip garlic cookie was a memory I wanted to repeat! And this restaurant does not disappoint!
We only had a short time to visit, and our server was excellent; food was fresh but also timely for the time we had! Very flavourful, and I thought that, since garlic is basically the name, that there was a terrific balance to their culinary creations! Friendly, tasty, cozy, great patio but also great windows at the indoor seating… The Outer Clove definitely is a must-eat-here in Nelson!
My fav restaurant in B.C. The only thing I could wish for is updating the menu as we’ve tried everything already.

Loved having dinner here late August 2024. Soothing atmosphere & super yummy food. We had the Halusky (spaeztle type noodles) with pork belly & the Seafood Palacsinta (Hungarian crepes) topped off by a measure of Plum Brandy. Exceptional food & a real treat for anyone who can't get "Eastern European" food out (because we live elsewhere in the world). Highly recommended!

I think this was my favourite visit in Nelson. The place was chill, the service was great, and the food was amazing. As well, you can't fault a place that has Bob Dylan on their playlist. I had the schnitzel and it was perfection.
