It's a really good Chinese restaurant. We go there for late lunch on Saturday. I don't know what to order. I see the chicken with broccoli chow mein looking good on my next table. So I just tell the staff I want this one on the other table. She tells me that the one I want has lunch special. It's a good deal. It costs only $14.95 for it. Thank you for the friendly and helpful staff.
Since we are too hungry, I forget to take pictures.
I also order one veggies stream dumpling and congee. The dumplings are so good and fresh. It's even better than the big dim sum restaurants in Vancouver.
I will come back for it soon.
I can only take some pictures outside the restaurant. The food are just as good as the pictures showing there.
It's not fine dining, but it has the taste that will make me keep going back.
I've been going to this place for years. It used to be a Hons. Same food and taste. I would highly recommend
My family and I have been frequenting Han Lin – formerly known as Hon’s – since before I was even born. This place has become part of my family’s story. Ever since I was a baby, my uncle, my aunt, my grandma, everybody would come together just to meet at this Hon’s. (Or the Chinatown location).
When I heard the other locations were shutting their doors, I felt a huge pang in my heart at the thought of losing that tradition. Then, when I realized this one was staying open, I felt such joy. Even though we also went to the Chinatown one, finding out that the employees pooled their money and bought the New West location filled me with profound happiness.
It’s not just the food or the people—I fully understand what people mean when they said a place “feels like home.” I don’t think people truly grasp what impact a restaurant like this has on you. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s thousands of memories: me and my sister fighting at the table when we were kids, scattered snapshots of growing up together.
If you haven’t been to this restaurant, do yourself a favor and go. It’s the most amazing place you’ll ever visit, and it just reminds me of home now. It’s so ingrained in my life—I don’t even think any word can explain it except “home.”
If you go (which you should), please tip generously. The staff are truly amazing—remarkable.
I’ve never once had a bad experience in almost 26 years.
Get the house special chow mein, curry brisket with rice, BBQ pork noodle soup, crispy squid… and their famous potstickers. Those are just a few of my family’s favourites.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk :^)
Good food.
Friendly service.
Relatively good princes.
Big fat dim sum at very reasonable prices ! Cheerful staff and good service !
I don't know how this place gets 4 or 5 stars? Chicken Chow Mein the noodles tasted stale and old, the sweet & sour pork was dry, tough & mostly inedible, tiny portion and barely any sauce. We had 1 portion of Wonton soup and it was horrible. First off it was in a fish broth (I hate fish) they should warn people of that for allergies and the Wonton filling was gross, it was filled w/dry rubbery left over shrimps. Disgusting....the only saving grace was the beef chop suey. But in no way was that dinner anywhere near worth the $80+ we paid for it. Never will be back
I love their food, amazing Won tons. Serving sizes for takeout (Sweet & Sour) could be bigger.
Been going there for many years.
The service is so quick.
Food is delicious and worth every penny.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level, so accessible. Washroom is not very accessible. Difficult to get around restaurant if you use a wheelchair.

I recently found a MAGGOT in my noodles. I was disgusted and announced it for everyone to hear.I should have picked it up and throw it in someone else's food! I got up and left and didn't even think to take a picture. Chinese restaurants are known to have dirty kitchens and rats. Especially Hons, they have locations Shut down because of this.
A previous time: when I selected no tip when it was time to pay I was declined twice. I've heard of this before where they scam u like this. She didn't give me the declined receipts which are required by law. It's a good thing I brought cash! The prices are ridiculous as well

Best Chinese around.
This used to be a Hon's and it still has the same Cantonese comfort food staples in delicious, large portions served with warm and attentive service. This place is an institution and my favourite Chinese spot in New West. Come here to feel food happies!

Great food! It’s nothing fancy but always hits the spot. There is a good variety and the portions are decent. Could be a little less oily.
