I have been going here for years. The food is excellent, authentic and the staff are amazing! I suspect with their going viral recently has led to some reviews which are not real but an attempt by mediocre establishments to have their clients return??😋
i come here at least once a month because the food is soooo delicious, especially the burritos. however, if not for the quality of the food, i would definitely not come here as often. i question the management, because for a place soo packed nearly every night, they seem sorely understaffed every time i come. the servers are working so hard during rushes there have been times where i’m sitting for 40 minutes before my order is taken, and after receiving the food, i am never checked on by the servers for the rest of my time there. the service tends to be a roll of the dice - either you’re seated sooner than anticipated and served pretty promptly; or you’re waiting 30 minutes to be seated, 30 to order, and 30 to be served your food. again, the food is what brings me back every time, but the service is totally lacking due to understaffing it seems to me. staff and customers could really benefit if the management stepped up more.
Quick easy economical place for tacos!
Food is very good but service is so-so. Long waiting to come inside and long waiting again for your order to arrive.
Great food with even better prices. The venue was very tight with no a/c, so be warned! Paid parking infront or find free parking on side street.
We had tacos and the trio appetizer. All really well made with nice flavours. Favourite tacos had to be the carne asada (steak) and lengua (tongue). Neither are something you can get regularly from other restaurants. Drinks are hit or miss but with the wild selection, I'm sure you'll find something you'll enjoy! The Jamaican hibiscus margarita tasted watered down, but probably not a popular choice. Until the next bite!
never been, but loved it anyway
The food sucked, they just drop the food at your table and never come back, the walls are disgusting and don’t look like they’ve been cleaned since 1971, their washroom looks like a street washroom in the downtown eastside and you have to go up to the front to pay and they looked at me like, why isn’t he giving us a tip :(
Sooo good. Must try their taco. Highly recommend.
The food was good. The only problem was the long waiting time for the food.

I originally gave this place 3 stars, but after my recent visit, I’m bumping it up to 4. The food continues to be excellent, and I especially enjoyed the enchiladas. Just a heads-up, though—if you order the enchiladas, it comes with four, but unfortunately, you can’t mix the fillings (like getting 2 chicken and 2 beef).
The service was much better this time around, and the food remains the standout feature. I’ll definitely keep coming back for the great meals.

Food was fantastic 🤩. We had the nachos, tacos and my son had the monster burrito. They aren't joking calling it a monster burrito, it was huge!

It was not a satisfactory meal.
The food was not what I ordered, the service waitress took long to bring the meal, not only one server, which was confusing for everybody at our table

First of all sorry for the pictures and let me start by saying we have eaten from Playa multiple times, both dine-in and delivery. I order from them at least once a week because until now, I was completely obsessed with their mushrooms quesadilla (I am vegetarian).
We try to avoid dining in the restaurant because honestly, they are always super crowded and it looks understaffed as other people have mentioned it multiple times. However their food is tasty so we would always crave it from time to time.
Today what happened was: we ordered two quesadillas, one of them being mine (mushrooms). After the first bite I noticed something off, it looked like it had shredded meat on it, so I opened the quesadilla to make sure I could eat it and not only I found said shredded meat but also a metal filament (probably from a metal sponge).
Very disappointed, I am glad I opened it but at the same time how do you order from a restaurant this?

We totally loved the atmosphere there- music and interior- very authentic.
Food is also good, we tried only fish taco and guacamole (but it was a bit too spicy to our taste).
