Menu
Fox & Monocle Cafe, nestled in Canoe Cove, offers delightful French pastries, coffee, and exceptional food with standout sausage rolls and custom cakes. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service create a welcoming environment, with the service team working smoothly together, attentive and good-humoured. The menu features thoughtfully prepared dishes, including the porchetta sandwich, ling cod croquette, and rolled turkey with rhubarb, fiddle heads, and turnip, all beautifully plated and delicious. The restaurant is known for its consistently outstanding dishes that feel like an explosion of flavour, crafted with care and creativity. Many dishes, such as the chicken pot pie, seafood ravioli, and duck breast, are highlights that guests highly recommend. The bright setting allows diners to see their food clearly, enhancing the dining experience. The chef is willing to modify dishes to suit dietary needs, making vegetarians feel welcome with options like the mushroom tart and risotto. Cocktails, including the well-made Old Fashioned and a surprisingly good rosé, complement the meals perfectly. Desserts like the brûlée tart with rhubarb sorbet and house-made pastries cap off the experience. While prices are slightly steep, the combination of quality, atmosphere, and the convenience of marina parking makes it a worthwhile visit. The unpretentious yet excellent food makes it a popular spot for special occasions, especially for those heading to the ferry or seeking a hidden gem with a top-shelf experience.
