I came here with my younger sister a while ago and we had a mixed experience at Sushi Ichi. Let's start with the positives – the food was fantastic. Every sushi roll was a great, and the quality was top-notch.However, the downside was a bit hard to ignore. The service left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the waitstaff seemed to forget about our table, leading to a longer-than-expected wait for our food. Despite the hiccup in service, once the dishes arrived, they were worth the wait.

Wish I took a photo of the chicken teriyaki!It was pure garbage. The plate was not sizzling, and it was not hot at all; the sauce was soupy, the portion was stingy and worst of all the chicken and sauce tasted off, and I almost never send food back. This was actually inedible so I told her kindly that I just can't eat this please take it back so she apologized and took it back. I had maybe two bites & just couldn't do it.When the bill arrived I noticed I was being charged for it so I reluctantly paid since I didn't wanna make a scene over 13 dollars in front of my children.I did ask when I was paying and she said sorry the manager said he can't take it off the bill which is the moment I realized the person has no clue how a business is supposed to handle a situation like that. If you really want to run your business that way fine! we don't mind spending our money elsewhere.I look at the 13$ as a fee I paid for finding out what this establishment is focused on and hopefully this can help others make informed choices about where to go the next time they want to go out for Japanese food in Parksville. Luckily there are many other choices.Thank you for your kindness and smile (can't remember her name). Our waitress was kind and friendly but that is just not enough for us to go back there ever again. Funny thing is we ate there less than two weeks ago so you'd think they can calculate loss and profits and make a sound decision in a moment like that with regular customers.Whatever.... My loss! Others' gain!

My friend and I ordered takeout from here while in town for a night. Delicious sushi, great price and the customer service was incredible! The lady who took our order on the phone was so sweet and very polite, and that treatment continued when we arrived for pickup. Nice staff, cool location where I would definitely go back to eat at. The food was great! Fresh and good value.

The decor hasn't changed in over ten years so feels a bit dated service was fine but the food quality felt like it was lacking just seemed basic and mid lvl nothing wrong w it but it was over all just ok so I won't be coming

This delightful classic sushi restaurant in the heart of Parksville had the freshest sushi, sashimi and Maki rolls. The Toro was so fresh and we shared the D-rich, Kamikaze and Summer Rolls all perfectly packed and rolled with fresh fish, avocado and Tobiko.

In parksville for a girls getaway and we wanted sushi we had heard good things about Sushi Ichi and thought we should go there. Don't judge a book by its cover, when you first walk in the restaurant could use some love but it is very clean. The server was very friendly, nice and accommodating. This was a Friday night and we did not have a rest. It got busy quick glad we got there when we did or we night have not got in. We order the Mahi Mahi Tempura (daily special) & Agedashi tofu to start. The tofu was cooked to perfection and I am picky about my tofu. The mahi mahi was moist and delicious! We did not wait very long for our starters. We then ordered everything to share. The Dynamite Roll with Smoked Salmon, Rainbow Roll and the Sakura combo which included tuna roll, salmon, roll, cucumber roll and a California roll. All rolls were spot on and delicious. my only complaint would be that the larger rolls were not wrapped tight enough and were hard to eat. Their Ice cream is a must have. Its the best green tea ice cream I have ever had. I would defiantly eat here again when I am in town.

Have been eating in a getting take out from sushi ichi for 15 years. Never, not once have there been any quality issues, consistent and fresh food every time. Decently priced and delicious.
