My order was some meat dish, it was so hard I could not eat it.
Ordered another dish and was not much better, suburb restaurants are terrible.
Cost wise another race to the bottom.

Seven of us went for brunch here for Mother’s Day brunch celebration. Food was average but alright when enjoyed in a group. The table we were seated was a bit cramped but we managed.

Wednesday May 6/26 this is a complain about the server that day the blonde senior lady I don’t know her name, but she was very rude with me and my table, all the time aggressive and rude, even she argue with us in front of everyone, just because we tell her in polite way that she don’t not to be rude, and then she say she don’t want to give us good service cuz one of us that go usual to the pub don tip her or tip well so that’s why she was treating like that, it dosent matter if that’s true or not, anyway u service need to be always good and nice and friendly and polite, but not this server she just get angry and yell out and hit the table with the machine anyway in conclusion very rude and not polite and not manners. , hope owner of this place do something about it,

Horrible experience at this place. The white lady in her 50s who attended us was absolutely terrible. She would practically throw the food and drinks at us, and every time we tried to say something she would suddenly walk away without even letting us finish speaking.

When we asked her why she was acting that way, she literally said it was because she “knew from the beginning” that we were not going to tip her. First of all, how would she even know that if it was our first time there? And second, even if a customer does not tip, you are still being paid to do your job professionally and respectfully. At most, if that was really her assumption, she should have just provided standard service instead of being openly hostile.

Tipping culture is getting out of control. We usually tip everywhere we go because we understand it is standard in Canada, but for the first time we decided not to tip because of how awful the experience was.

It honestly felt racist because she was being lovely and friendly with the tables next to us, while treating us completely differently. That lady should not be working in customer service at all. Worst service we have ever experienced, and we will definitely never come back. I also do not understand why you would show Champions League matches to attract customers if you are going to have such rude staff that nobody would want to return to this place,Absolutely horrible!!!!!!

I am a local guest at Samz pub, usually come in once or twice a week as I love the food here, however I will not be coming anymore.

I recently applied for a new driver license as mine was expiring soon, and ICBC took my current driving license as part of the process. The only other government issued photo id i have with my driver license gone is an expired passport (I don’t travel so I haven’t needed an up to date passport).

I have used it at various bars downtown and locally and never had an issue. It is expired and has a hole punch in it, but as stated on official government website, expired passports can still be used. Even with a hole punch through it, it is very clearly a real goverment id that states my name and birthday.

The server mentioned it says online that hole punched passports can’t be used as valid id, but this unequivocally false. They can’t be used for travel, but any form of expired id can be used for identification at a bar. And I can’t stress this enough that I have used this exact passport at clubs downtown with official scanners and much higher security.

When I tried to explain my situation to the server they were incredibly rude and dismissive. We weren’t even going to order a drink, just food and we had an incredibly hard day with a sickness in the family.

I really hope change is taken (even though i won’t ever be coming back), and that this server is talked to about the proper discipline to take in this situation, as this is clearly not correct.

Edit: I had two pieces of valid government id on me with my name and signature on it. If you review the security cameras you can clearly see me pulling them out and showing them to the server. Please review your regulations. This is what is required: 1 government issued id with your name, picture and birthday. This first piece can be expired as long as it is clear it is government issued. And then one second piece of id with your name and signature. I clearly met all these requirements. And I cannot stress enough that I had no problem using these two pieces in any other bar downtown, so this is not an issue with the rules, this was an issue with the server not enforcing them properly.

I attended the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce networking event at Samz Neighbourhood Pub, and the evening felt like stepping into a pocket of warmth and community. The pub was the perfect setting — relaxed, welcoming, and full of friendly faces.

Samz staff were attentive all night, the drinks were great, and the space created the ideal backdrop for conversations that flowed as easily as the atmosphere.

I met so many amazing local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders — each conversation felt like a spark that could grow into something meaningful. Events like this remind me why I love living and doing business in the Tri-Cities.

Thank you to the Chamber team for organizing such a fantastic night, and to Samz for hosting us so beautifully. I’m already looking forward to the next event. 🌿🤝✨

Atmosphere was pretty chill. Our waitress was not super attentive and seemed like her mind was on something else. She was more talkative to other tables though. The chicken wings were delicious and very well done, however, fish and chips were mediocre.

I'm Muslim and don't drink, but I just wanted to leave a good review for the kindness of the manager here, who went out of their way to help me when my car was locked inside of a parking garage in PoCo 💓💓. I hope pub-goers will give this place a try!!
