The bakery items are great, but the staff isn’t friendly. As much as I enjoy the baked goods, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I’ve been a loyal customer for 5–6 years, regularly ordering cakes for my kids’ birthdays which were great.This time, I ordered a cake on Nov. 25 and picked it up on Nov. 27, but the cream tasted like gasoline. When I called the store the next morning to report the issue, I was told someone would call me back that day which they didn’t. Next day By late afternoon, I call again, and I finally spoke to the owner. He was rude, unapologetic, and dismissive, claiming they’ve never had complaints in 12 years—something I found untrue after checking their Google reviews. He even accused me of being rude to his wife and harassing employees—completely false— I don’t know who his wife is! And neither we discuss the issue with his employees..He demanded I bring the cake back, thinking I was lying. I would bring him the cake to him if I was living close by, I drove from Langley to get a good quality cake not just a garbage. How inconvenient after screw the birthday cake that no one could eat. Asking to bring back to the store. The cake is still here you can come and pick up I’m not wasting time and gas to drive to a dishonest person and proving any point. The lack of professionalism and accountability was shocking, and the owner showed no willingness to handle the issue respectfully.won’t be going here anymore. Yes he did refund me after all that argument but the money wasn’t the issue for me. It was more how you respond to it.

Busy Italian bakery/deli in Newport village! There were so many good looking things to choose from it was hard to decide. Everything was good and reasonably priced. My fav was apple bar and strudel! Service was fast and friendly.

It used to be my favorite place to go but it has changed too much.The Ciabatta buns used to be so light/full of airpockets. Now they are dense and no different than Thrifty's but more expensive. They no longer make my favorite loaf (The Crafters Whole Wheat Loaf). I am not really a cake & biscotti customer but the breads/buns are not the same quality or discontinued and everything is overpriced now. And it used to be so convenient to pick my milk, butter, coffee cream, eggs etc. but it's all gone now.

Thank for responding to my comment. Please note. You do not need to apologize for the business decisions you made. I am simply giving my feedback that everything that drew me to you as a consumer is all gone. Sadly the replacement offerings are no match from the quality I previously enjoyed. For instance the bread that was offered as a replacement to the Crafters Loaf was so hard and chewy it hurt my teeth and frankly it is no different than the artisan breads you can get at Thrifty's for less money. Why would you replace some of the best products I have ever tasted with the same thing everyone else is making? Make no mistake, folks love your deserts and pastries. I am simply someone who runs from sugar. lol

Ordered sandwiches for a special occasion. Harmony was extremely helpful and accommodating. Although they were closed on the day of the event, she made the effort to come in to make the sandwiches and ensured I would get my order. This is above and beyond what businesses would normally do. I appreciated the extra mile she went. And needless to say, the sandwiches were delicious!! Thank you, Harmony!

I’ve been their loyal customer since 2012; They recently renovated in 2024 & I went there to buy my mom her birthday cake; after their renovation that they have raised their whole cake prices to $69.99.

Once we tried cutting it that we felt super embarrassed in front of all our guests cause the cake was old.

This bakery shouldn’t had placed their old cakes up for sale😳

Every slice that the cake simply crumbled & fell apart as it was simply old cake & not fresh❗️

Sorry to say that we will never be going back to this bakery ever again.

love this place! It’s such a cute, authentic Italian shop. My favorites include the bread, bessst homemade pesto, various pastas, pizza dough, and most of the desserts (though some are a bit too sweet for me).

I received excellent customer service from a lady (Filipino) when I had an issue with the cheese. She was very understanding and happy to meet my needs. Always friendly!
