I ordered the 6 piece toro sashimi.
When the server dropped it off I already felt disappointed by the small portion. But since it was my first time here, I gave them the benefits of the doubt. After eating a piece off the top I realized the ones layered underneath were even smaller. Upon seeing the one hidden at the bottom, I was actually impressed. Sure enough, they're out of toro when I checked it on the tablet. Quite a resourceful sashimi chef they got. Wouldn't recommend dining here if you value integrity.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Lower Mainland. The rice is perfectly cooked. The ingredients are fresh. Even the simple dishes are bursting with flavour. The more complex offerings are incredible. We don't eat out much but lately we have been coming here once a week (or more lol). And the service is incredible - there are many servers that are always checking on your tea/water etc. Very well managed and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

I find its food quite special. Some combo is unique. I am also surprised to see how busy it was for a Thursday evening. We needed to wait for a few minutes.....even for Thursday. So i guess its quite popular in Coquitlam area.

I wanted to like it but I was very disappointed with the quality of food. I am Japanese so maybe my expectation is higher than others. I have lived in tricities for 15 years and I have not been able to find authentic Japanese sushi place so hoping I would like this place. The green tea was like warm water, spicy tuna roll, I almost spited out. It tastes like tuna went bad but I think it was because mix of all the different condiments. ( Sesami oil, some spicy mayo and sweet sauce maybe?) Any sashimi mixed with sesami oil is not authentic sushi roll in my opinion..... Wasabi and pickled ginger was not provided with the food and I had to ask for it. Chicken karaage was also not authentic karaage recipe but rather made like Katsu.....

Please somebody tell me a good japanese restaurant in Tricities!!?

I've never walked out of a restaurant before.

I was here on August 19, 2025 around 5:30 PM. I was excited for my friend to try a new restaurant and in a good mood for sushi. The restaurant didn't look busy, and there were lots of empty tables.

We were seated at a small table in the far corner without a tablet to order from. I wanted to change tables, but initially thought it was fine. Maybe it was because we were only 2 people, and most of the other tables with the tablets were bigger for larger parties. No big deal.

We later saw several 2-people groups get seated at bigger tables with ordering tablets, and there were plenty of open tables with tablets we could have been seated at.

In our corner table, our waitress ended up either forgetting about our table or was straight up ignoring us. She kept attending to the tables around us with her back towards us the entire time. Didn't even glance at our table once. When she did look at our table, she didn't even bother to ask if we were ready to order, and continued to ignore us. Our waitress later sat another group at a nearby table, who came around 10 minutes after my friend and I. She promptly served them and took their order, still with her back turned towards us the entire time, even after she took their order. Our waitress later looked at our table again and still continued to not check up on us. After waiting some more, we got up and left.

The entire mood of the restaurant felt so off and unwelcoming. Even from the start, our waitress seemed very friendly with all her other tables except ours. It was an unpleasant and embarrassing experience. A shame really. I hope no one else has to experience what we went through.

Food and service are great here. It is becoming a regular spot for us to go to. We have a 2 year old and they are super friendly and accommodating to all of us.

Came here on Mother's Day for dinner and it did not disappoint! I've ordered takeout from there before, so this was our first dine-in experience. It was super packed and busy, but we had reserved a table a few days prior (quick tip: they don't take reservations after 6PM!). We ordered the Chef's Choice and while the pricing was a little steep, the quality of the food had justified it.

Some family favourites included the oshi sushi (so flavorful!), the rolls (especially the mango one) and appetizers were incredibly good. The only minor criticism was that the tempura wasn't as crispy as we had hoped.

Overall, we left very full and super satisfied. Service, despite being busy on a Sunday night, was still quite attentive with the attendants checking on us regularly. In addition, they also have free parking - which is a nice plus! Looking forward to coming again!

Stopped in for a quick weekday Bento box lunch. The salmon & beef were each nice, and a fair size with soup to start, all fine.
