4 of us went there last week (2 from Comox and 2 from Nanaimo) and the food was incredible. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. We just wish we weren’t so rushed, it really took away from our night out. We were told we only had 1.5 hrs which was no problem. She reminded us continuously throughout the meal and after an hr asked us if we were ready for our bill. We told her we were thinking about having a dessert (which was pre-made) and she sighed and looked at her watch! She brought the dessert and we scarfed it so fast and just got out of there. We tipped well because who knows if the pressure was coming from the kitchen, but we left with 20 mins to spare and a whole lot of empty tables there. Recommend if you aren’t meeting others and are in a hurry.

Ok, I got a kick out of the homey atmosphere. You may not agree. I felt like the place was cared for, maintained and menu organized by, and food prepared by, a couple or family who really loved the place.It was a busy night, but we were promptly seated and served, nice beer, and great food (schnitzel and desert). We are only visiting the area, but would love to come back.

If you are looking for a great German meal with friendly staff, this is the place. Recently we went there with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. Had a great time, with large portions and a waitress with a great sense of humor and best service! Reasonable prices . Remember to bring your appetite! Also, they are usually busy, just phone ahead for reservation! We recently moved closer to the restaurant, which is a little dangerous! lol

Omg. This is seriously my favorite restaurant. The food is absolutely the best. The service is beyond compare. It is like stepping into an authentic German restaurant. I have had quite a few of the snitzel selections, but the Ruben snitzel is my favorite. I know it's not authentic, but I don't care it's delicious. Do yourself a favor and visit them today.

We didn't realize it was a two hours limit. Met some friends there at 5, hubby ordered another beer at 6:45. There is not enough time for a beer. The waitress should have let us know that the table needed to be vacant before 7.
