Good deserts...mostly sourdough bread
Really nice setting and the sausage rolls are delicious, the coffee was pretty good too and the scones well you will have to try them yourself, Jean and the staff are so nice it is a delight to visit and have lunch there.
Are you kidding ?
If you haven’t been here, you haven’t been to Qualicum Beach.
What a gem !
Brilliant artisan bakery!
Jean and staff at Wild Culture are so friendly and generous. They donated 2 large boxes of delicious sausage rolls and desserts for our Parksville Community Park Legacy Labyrinth Repainting Volunteers! We were very productive and hungry and lunch was a delightful surprise! Thank you so much, Jean!
Big Hugs, Holly and Labyrinth friends 🧡
My favorite bakery. Carrot cake is the best.
It is challenging to articulate how special this place is. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is exceptional. I don't think I have ever had a coconut macaroon that was as delicious as the ones here (we like the half dipped in dark chocolate so much that we have to get two because we each want our own). Everyone working here is a genuine joy to interact with, and it has become a mandatory stop anytime we come to the island. 10/10 must recommend.
Ps. If you happen to be around on Fridays, make sure you order their pizzas. They only do them on Friday, but they're well worth it.
Reasonably priced, Exceptional quality
Best Christmas cake!!

Why are we limited to an arbitrary 5 🌟rating?
Wild Culture should be multiples of 5. There are many reasons but let’s start with their baked goods, since it’s a bakery.
No, check that, let’s start with the location which is out of a storybook or it could be the inspiration for a wonderful fable, romance novel or a movie set. I must confess that I have passed it by many times without realizing what it was. There is a very modest sign and a driveway that belies the aromatic bakery within the beautiful and lush property.
The bakery looks rustic and inviting. The shop is modestly sized but one’s eyes are drawn to the array of baked goods including cakes, cookies and myriad other treats. The bread on a shelf behind the cashier is tantalizing and fragrant, okay what else would a bakery smell like. You might have to move people aside but be gentle.
There’s a little seating area for coffee and a treat outside of the shop and there is often a musician helping to restore civilization one note at a time.
If you’re reading this please don’t tell my GP how I know how fantastic an array of sourdough bread is on offer, before they sell out of course. Let’s keep that our little secret…
Wild Culture is locally famous for their pizza which is available in cooked or raw form, including a vegan choice which is my favourite. I buy two every week but here’s the catch: the pizzas have to be ordered starting Sunday evening for Friday afternoon pickup. If you take them uncooked you only need to put them in your oven for ten minutes at 475 for a thin and crispy sensation with tons of fresh ingredients. You can pay online and come up to the pizza window after 1 on Friday. (unless you forget like someone I know did this week-no pizza for me! Him, for him I mean…
So the place is a sensation, their goods are a treat but the staff, as crazy busy as they may be, are always welcoming and friendly.
Their hours are interesting, make sure you check before you go because you may have to wait in the drive-through for a day or two. Note: there is no drive-through.
I’m sure that I’ve missed a few things but that gives me an excuse to go back very soon, as if I needed one.
I have one little suggestion: I think the jalapeño bread should come without cheese for the vegans among us…. Cop tells his prisoner that he has the right to remain silent but the prisoner says “I can’t, I’m a vegan”.
Vegetarian options: Vegan pizza, bread, cookies, and cake are available. Ask, they’re super helpful.

Absolute best fresh baked breads and pastries I've found since returning from Europe almost 50 years ago.. breads as wholesome, delicious and nutritious as found in the old-world European village bakeries of the previous century.. perhaps better

Nice little bakery to get a snack at, the service is friendly and fast they have a driving loop. The line there is mostly stretched outside, but thats normal because the inside is little.

Just amazing, reminds me of my grandma baking goodies. Probably the best bakery so far in Canada.
