The new location is very disappointing: the place is a joke, and ramen tastes like canned tomato soup. It isn't worth the money you pay. It's sad to see how Afuri has changed, as the old location was great.

So the Viking Way location is basically their commisary kitchen. (Admittedly it was hard to find as there was very little signage. An Uber Delivery guy pointed the way for us). There's 2 large tables that can fit 8 people. If it's busy, you'll share space. You order using their online menu. And then you basically get the food from the counter and bus your dirty dishes when you're done. None of this is an issue. Food was great here and the people were very nice. I'd likely come again if I was in the neighborhood.

Ordered through UberEats for pickup and was told it would be ready by 6:16pm, but had to wait an extra 20 minutes. When we got home, we discovered that two orders of extra noodles were missing from our order. We tried calling the restaurant, but they were already closed, and there was no email or other contact info available.

Would appreciate it if the restaurant could reach out to us to clarify if the noodles were somehow packed together or if they were genuinely missed. Until then, hoping they'll take steps to improve their ordering and communication process

Ramen is okay, not so flavourful like before honestly. Service is not bad, price is okay, overall I would say it’s good/average.

Delicious options including a vegan hazelnut tan-tan. Highly recommend for a cheap, cozy meal!

Tried their tonkatsu ramen, fairly decent overall! The marinated pork belly was something to get used to

The food was delicious, but we encountered some problems with the waiter. After our meal I asked for more rice and the waiter came back with a Yuzu lemonade! The waiter seemed to be new as she asked for our order many times, overall it is a decent place to go to.

Food came out pretty fast. The egg is near perfectly cooked. Just by judging how the egg is done, you would know the kitchen stuff really pay exceptional attention to their cooking. Also the chicken breast is so moist and tender. Will come back to try other dishes.

Every time I go to the Japanese grocery store I would pass Afuri, and very curious what kind of restaurant it is. So one day I finally went in. I thought it would be a cozy Japanese style restaurant, but instead it was a modern , high ceiling studio style restaurant. There were only 2 other tables that were dinning over there. One table order lots the other one was just like me order only a noodle.
The server was a very charming young lady with a nice smile asking what I want. The food was ok, not what I expected,price...I know everything is expensive now a day, but not worthy for me to go again and spend the money.
For what is worth the place feel too cold,a noodle place should remind you of comfort food, warm, cozy place. It would be interesting if instead of modern cold atmosphere, change it to many of those Japanese family style sit under the heated table with thick blanket kind of style restaurant, and lower the ceiling, and food wise noodle was not bad, wish the meat could be more tender.
Anyway, maybe this place is like a pub style at night.
Overall, this place is ...ok, service not bad.

I came in as total 6 people. I’m impressed about how small their foods are…the prices are in more expensive side than traditional Japanese ramen. Though I was expecting the better presentation or better taste…yet only disappointing for everyone. The pork (kakuni) is SO SMALL inside of the bun, couldn’t really take a good picture of it, definitely not as advertised in the picture of the menu…can’t describe how disappointed we are. We ordered four types of ramen. All of them were tasted light soup with fat textures behind the tongue. I saw there was line up when this store just came out at the beginning, I seriously doubt about it. Only disappointment left….

Been coming to this place for over 5 years and always consistently delicious. Best ramen in the lower mainland.

We visited for the Vancouver Dine Out menu and tried out a great mix of foods - from the ramen to the gyoza and carpaccio, ending with the yuzu ice cream, it's clear this place specializes in unique flavors and yuzu in particular! The server was very kind and we would definitely come back again :)

Got their Sunday special. It was yummy, broth was very thick and tasty. Meat was a bit chewier/harder than other ramen places I’ve been to but still very good! Good atmosphere and kind staff.
