We had the egg Benedicts, salmon was enjoyable but the benedicts were served slightly cold. I enjoyed their lavender latte the most.
10-15 mins wait for 2 of us on a Sat morning. Minimal service during weekends, we had to wait a while to be served.

Had brunch at Cannery Café and it was a great experience. We went with the mid-priced brunch set and added an extra dish to share—lots of variety and very filling. Everything tasted fresh and well made.
The café is small and cozy, and the staff were lovely. It does get busy, so I’d suggest going before noon or being ready to wait a bit. Food takes some time, but overall definitely worth it. Would happily come back.

Loved seeing “Granny’s” from Once Upon a Time - they had some great eats & treats! Fun to see the TV show references and pics too.

We had a Benny and a tuna salad. They mistakenly brought only the salad first instead of the food together. Both were tasty however the salad is not substantial it was greens with two tomatoes cut in half with an egg and a small portion of tuna. I would t suggest it. Adding some potatoes or bread would make this a meal. Over all tasty and good service.

If you’re looking for a reliable brunch spot in Steveston, this place delivers on all fronts. They have an extensive menu but i recommend the platter for 2. There's an option to add an extra person if there's 3 of you. Genuinely massive portion that’s ideal for sharing and if you are hungry. Everyone at the table gets a bit of everything. The drinks hold their own as well. My black coffee was straightforward and well brewed, while my friends ordered the house-famous hot chocolate.
The space itself works well for longer visits. Service was solid and attentive without hovering, and there's WiFi if you are tourist. There's free parking at the back which is a bonus. There's an outdoor patio available during the summer. Overall, it’s a dependable, crowd-friendly brunch destination that I’d confidently recommend—especially if you’re dining with family or visiting Steveston.

Restaurantji Recommends
I just want to tell you that your service sucks. My husband and I came into your restaurant today at around 10:30 AM and we were seated right away, but nobody came to bring us water and nobody came to take our order even after 10 minutes, we left the restaurant and we have no plans of ever coming back. I believe after your customers to sit down, they should at least be served water and their orders should be taken within five min. Beyond that is a unacceptable.

Our first time at the Cannery Café and it was excellent. All of the staff were friendly, especially Cece ❤️ We asked about her recommendations and both were delicious.
We ordered the Rosti with the Avocado add on, and a Benedict with smoked salmon. The Rosti was crispy and the Avocado was delicious. The grilled focaccia base for the Benedict was a unique variation.
Our coffees were hot and topped up a few times by the attentive staff.
Would give 6 stars if it was possible! Definitely going to return to the Cannery Café.

The worst coffee I’ve had in my entire life.
They don’t have oat milk, and if you pay by credit card, they charge 3% extra. The coffee was way too over-roasted. They charged us $15 for two coffees, and it tasted so bad we couldn’t even drink it—we threw it in the trash.
Worst coffee experience in Canada.

“Honestly, I left pretty disappointed. The staff at the door wasn’t friendly at all, and the customer service just didn’t feel great. The only thing I really enjoyed was the outside view. I was super excited to check this place out, so it’s a bummer the experience didn’t live up to the hype. Hopefully things improve.”
