Empire Seafood Restaurant

We ordered Takeout Set A for 6 for our CNY dinner but were given Poon Choi instead. When we picked up the order, we double-checked with the staff, and they confirmed it was correct. Unfortunately, we later discovered it was not what we had originally ordered.

It also appears that the price was increased for the holiday. When we dined there last month, the price for 6 meals was $178 (as per the screenshot). However, when I called to order this same Set A, I was told the price was now $198. I went through the items included in the Set A combo with them over the phone and agreed to proceed at that price.

When we contacted the restaurant about the incorrect order, they initially asked us to drive back to Richmond from Surrey to return the Poon Choi and pick up the correct Set A. Given the traffic (5PM), this would have taken over an hour each way, which we found extremely inconsiderate.

We then requested a refund. The restaurant asked us to send a copy of the receipt to process it, which we have done, and we are currently waiting for the refund to be issued.

They said they would arrange for someone to pick up the Poon Choi from our home and told us to store it in the fridge in the meantime. However, we have not been given a clear timeline for pickup, and we are unsure how the food will be handled. To make matters worse, the Poon Choi pot was leaking.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for an important CNY dinner.

The dim sum here is delicious, and everything tastes fresh and well-made. My favorite is the rice rolls with crispy fried dough — perfectly soft on the outside and crunchy inside. I always order it! Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic dim sum.

Just realized I haven't reviewed this place, my family has eaten here quite a few times over the years. The dim sum is really good (let's be real, dim sum in Richmond almost always is). It's a bit on the rich side but it's my parents' favorite. Friendly and prompt service for such a busy place. Would recommend

Pre-order the stuffed treasure duck 1 day in advance (as per instructions on Uber Eats app).

Called again in the morning to confirm.

Less than 1 hour before the scheduled delivery time, they called me tellin me to cancel it (and losing $100+ CAD)…?

If you can’t fulfill an item, don’t put it on the Uber eats, or at least have the courtesy to cancel it for your customers. Scammy and scummy behavior.

First time to empire Seafood seafood restaurant for dim sum, food are you Siri one of the best in which one prize is reasonable for what I got I ordered many dishes and they all taste great. Love every single bite of it. Currently, we’re also running a King Crabb special which I ordered and will back dinner for the weekend. I will try to report that when I can. Services is exceptional good. everybody is not so noisy. I will for sure come again, paying is easy just register at the front desk.

We stopped by at the recommendation of our family who visited last year, and it did not disappoint! The king crab was delicious, and the beef + mushroom dish and the veggies with seafood were yummy as well. The managers personally waited on us and took the time to explain the special menu, despite some language barrier. Thank you again for having us!

Had a reservation a week before for bday party but when we get there on time, the table wasn’t ready.
We brought a cake and reception said bring to the casher so we brought to the casher but she said “table number?” We don’t have a table yet so back to reception then she said table is not ready.
It was 10am in the morning and not many customer there.

Foods were good and location is great, no parking issues.

Had dim sum at Empire Seafood Restaurant today — everything was fresh and flavorful! The har gow were perfectly steamed with juicy shrimp inside, and the steamed buns were so soft and fluffy. The crispy noodles with beef and vegetables had great texture and a rich sauce that tied it all together.
Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere felt elegant yet relaxed. A perfect spot for a weekend dim sum brunch!
