Great place to eat, service was so friendly and the vibe was fun. Loved how the owner Spencer came to do quality check to make sure if we didnt like anything, he wanted to know and make it right.

Loved everything about this place! We stopped by late night and had a bunch of their robata as well as some sashimi and tartare.
The robata was top notch. The charcoal grilling was done skillfully, adding smoky flavour to the skewers while the meat was cooked perfectly. My favourite was the chicken yakitori, but we also very much enjoyed the beef tongue, beef short ribs, ton toro, gizzard, and chicken skin. The shishamo was a bit on the salty side, but the grilling was done very well.
We also ordered the salmon belly sashimi and the toro tartare. The salmon belly was very fresh and presented nicely on ice. I also really enjoyed the toro tartare. The presentation was on point and the combination of textures and flavours was just right for me. The raw dishes were a great contrast to the robata!

Spencer and his awesome crew made our dinner experience over the top. Thank you, from the recommendations to the laughter, start to finish was truly 5 star. The quality of the food is beyond impressive, and if you don't know where to start, just ask. The decor was wicked, such a great vibe, truly a gem. If you don't go here you're truly missing out on excellence. Highly recommend. Definitely will be going back. Over and over again.

Will not recommend
we came in for dinner and it wasn't too busy.
Waiter/tress were friendly and refill tea frequently.
Toro had a fishy smell. And they were 6.5 a piece
Chicken wing was.... Interesting.
Chicken hearts were thinly sliced and dry.
Butter garlic clam was pretty good. With sizable clams. Didn't have a problem with this dish.
Mentaiko chicken was enjoyable.
Hodate motoyaki is $15 and comes with toasted bread. The wasabi was overpowering everything else in the dish.
The manga related art work on the wall serves as a distractions from the mediocre food.

When they say the best sushi in town, they aren't lying. Truly the best sushi in Vancouver! Everything was fresh, delicious, and perfect. Customer service was excellent, and it also has such a fun, artistic ambiance.

Cool One Piece teamed restaurant. Food is ok, but overly overpriced. A few items were sold out, and we only heard when we tried to order. The waitress said the tempura ice cream, was available only on winter! Again, only heard when we tried to order.
We ordered 2 different dish, for 2 different people (one on each side of the table). They came together on the same plate. When we said the dish should come in different plates, the person turned around and walked away. Nothing was done.
One funny thing: they have a big projector screen, showing a lot of different dishes. When we asked for one of the dishes (because we thought were dishes from the restaurant), they said they didn’t have any. It was just random food, to make people hungry 😂

For anyone looking for a Japanese restaurant with a distinct theme, this place is a good option. The One Piece and general anime decor creates a unique and enjoyable atmosphere. We were also pleased with the service, as the staff were quite nice.
We went with friends and sampled a range of their menu, including sushi, various skewers, karaage, tempura, and udon, along with some drinks. We found all the dishes to be of good quality, and nothing disappointed. While the cost is a bit more than what you might typically pay, we collectively felt it was a good overall experience, and it comes with our recommendation. It was a good outing for our group, and we'd be happy to visit again 👍

We had a wonderful time, food was delicious and service was excellent. Spencer made us feel welcome to Vancouver, BC on our first night in a new city! Decor is fun/whimsical and it is a great place for a fun night out with delicious Japanese plates big enough to share (there was one entire menu page of appetizers- not enough time to try all of the things we wanted!).
