Couples or singles are required to sit at the bar tables, and the seats are very unforgiving and extremely uncomfortable. The primary reason for not returning is the bar chairs. No matter how delicious their food may be, no suffering is worth it.The secondary reason for not returning is knowing there are cheaper hot pot restaurants nearby that pretty much offer the same food and quality of food. Happy Lamb Hot Pot at Lansdowne Centre is a good example. Their $19.99 lamb hot pot has pretty much the same quality and quantity, if not better or more.My $39 10-ounce "AAA Prime Rib Slice Combo" was pretty good, but the price doesn't quite justify its quality and quantity. Good quality but not outstanding. It should be worth no more than $29.My wife's $32, 10-ounce "Lamb Shoulder Slice Combo" is nothing special. We would rather opt for Happy Lamb's $19.99 lamb set plus an additional tray of lamb slices for $12 more. I am sure we would find it more enjoyable with the additional tray considering both Gokudo and Happy Lamb's quality and food offerings are quite comparable.The broth is too bland. You basically have to depend on the sauce they provide to add flavor to the food. Happy Lamb's broth is out of this world in comparison.Happy Lamb has a whole slew of condiments to choose from. Gokudu has whatever they give you; take it or leave it. If you want fresh chili, you have to ask.One thing Gokudo trumps Happy Lamb over is the service. Gokudo's waitress is always around and constantly checks if you need any replenishments. Happy Lamb's staff are never around when you need them. ?

This is a nice restaurant to go to when you are looking to treat yourself for a night out. It is a small cozy place but can be cramped if you have a large party.They have a wide selection of food in their menu. The combo is a great deal and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get: you can choose your own broth, type of meat, a drink, and udon/rice/vermicelli. You will definitely leave with your stomach full.Service is great from the start. If you go at night time, they can get busy, but the servers are polite and accommodating. They do their job to inform you that everyone in your party must arrive to be seated. Even when they are busy, wait time is reasonable and not too long. They will even let you see the menu and take your order while you wait, so you will sit down with your food ready in front of you. Servers are attentive as well throughout, will make sure you have what you need at all times.10/10 would recommend to at least try once

Fresh ingredients and seafood. Very busy during peak hours, expect to wait at least 30 min to an hour. They don't have an online wait-list at the time of writing, you'll need to come in to put your number down.
Ordered the mushroom truffle hot pot with the fatty meat and it was so delicious. The fish balls and the sauce literally melted in my mouth, I can’t wait to come back. The food comes out very fast and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

Found this “hidden gem” while walking around Continental Shopping Centre for a dinner place. Service was fast and staff were super friendly.We went with their combo selection with no add-ons and the bill came to just under $55. It came with your protein, chicken soup, udon noodles, daily drink and ice-cream. Sooo filling. ??The server kept checking on us and refilling our chicken soup hot pot. Will definitely be coming back.

The best hotpot place I’ve been to period. Tried the lunch special with short rib and also Aaa Prime steak. Both lunches were about $32 CAD which is good value - this is the upper end of their menu. The Short rib would be my go to between the two meats. Service was excellent, place is super clean and meal even comes with ice cream! Highly recommended.

Good hot pot/shabu shabu spot to hang out with your friends. Outstanding customer service with knowledgeable staffs. Menu was a little hard to navigate thru at first but staffs were very helpful and guided us thru step by step. We’ve underestimated the amount of food that was in the hot pot combo. Definitely recommend getting the Beef tongue on side.
