Overall very good, attentive service. Quality and portions of the meats are great and reasonable. Would recommend!
The Reserved Luncheon for my Relatives going to Alaska on a Cruise was, as usual, delicious! The selection of meats...Outstanding and tender! The added Salad and Soup were great starters... Overall, it was a Treat to behold! Thank You Staff, Servers and Chief Chef!
It was amazing as always! We ordered a combo for 3 people and we were all satisfied! We loved the quality of food
Always a good experience to dine in gyu kaku Richmond Good food and good deals Experienced and friendly staff , shout out to Goksel, make the dining experience very enjoyable
Have always went to downtown. Accidentally booked Richmond. Only thing the same was the menu and prices. Atmosphere and service don't hold a candle
While service was a little inattentive everyone was friendly. Food was excellent as usual. Always love it here. Definitely recommend.
Great place to eat, good value, and can try many different meats 🍖 real BBQ flavors.. Richmond is better than the Nelson St location. Richmond has better grills. Nelson St might put you in a plastic pick nick table sometimes with an electric grill and tin foil. Everything sticks to it and fight with trying to turn your meat over.... so now we go to Richmond instead for a better experience.
Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend the bistro hanger steak. One star down because a server came by and turned off our grill after saying he was adjusting it for us. Nothing cooked for 5 minutes and we had to turn the grill back on, which takes 5 minutes to heat back up.
Excellent lunch menu- very good attentive server- the restaurant is looking very tired and needs some sprucing
Our experience is usually very good however this last time, sizing of 2 of the meat dishes was very disappointing. One dish only came with 2 small pieces of meat and it was $9.

First time at the Richmond location, we usually go to the one downtown. We order quite similar things each time so the comparison is easy. The money wasn't worth the meal unfortunately. Downtown location is far better in everything.
The food is wonderful and really tasty. Thanks to Selena for the amazing service. Definitely recommend to the meat lovers! EEGAH
I visited Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ for the first time and was genuinely impressed. The entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. The quality of the food stood out immediately — the beef was especially tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth! We ordered a variety of meats and sides, and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and nicely seasoned. The dipping sauces added great variety to the flavors.
The atmosphere was warm, lively, and inviting — perfect for a casual night out with friends or a fun dinner with family. The grill-your-own style adds an interactive touch that makes the meal feel more special and engaging.
What really made the visit even better was the service. Our server was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. They explained the menu clearly, gave us great recommendations, and checked on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying everything. We never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was busy.
This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. I highly recommend Gyu-Kaku to anyone who loves Japanese BBQ or is looking for a fun, flavorful dining experience. Great food, great service, great vibes — what more could you ask for?
They changed spicy tuna valcano to a different recipe, looks so different than the menu and doesn’t taste good anymore, bibimbap tastes sweet with corn?? 😭worst bibimbap I ever had… everything is worse than before 🙏🙏don’t come here
Went there only to be told their natural gas cooktop were not working so they couldn't open for guests. They were very friendly and polite though.
