Finally visited this location. I still think the W Broadway one is the best (for the interior and service), but the W Broadway one just got rebranded, so now my ranking for Gyu-Kaku in Vancouver would be 1) downtown 2) richmond (this loc)Mainly because the service was poor and the interior felt musty. We waited around 20 min for chicken and pork (one person in our party couldn’t eat beef). Had to flag a server down to refill our water (it wasnt filled once during the entire 2 hours we were there). The grill also needed to be changed, our desserts weren’t served. There was only one other party in our section, and the servers were just chatting with each other. Not against that, but comeon, come on and check on us once every 20 min at least, not wait until the end of our meal (2 hour).Overall just felt the quality wasn’t there. And for the $50/person we paid it wasn’t justified.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary revelation. Whether you're a seasoned BBQ aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, this establishment offers a dining experience like no other. Prepare to be dazzled, delighted, and utterly satisfied.

Food and service amazing as usual. Raymond went the extra mile to make sure my mom’s drink wasn’t too sweet. He also made great recommendations! DFCBE.

The server told us to leave the restaurant because we reached our time limit even though there was many empty tables. A different server told a little kid to just read the sign when he asked where the washroom was.

A fun experience and one that forces you to not eat as quickly as one might normally since you have to cook your own meats. They need to reupholster some of their seating as it's looking pretty rough in spots.

We used to come to the Broadway location, so this was our first time in Richmond. Everything tasted really great, but I must say Meat Lovers is a portion for at least 3 people, we were having trouble finishing it. Our server, Sandra was very attentive the entire time. Will be definitely back.

Food was not as good as other Gyu I have visited. My lady friend was told she couldn't have a bigger table because she needed to have six in the party, when the other table showed up, there were only three. I was not happy being seated in front of the burner, it was inappropriate, and my clothes were covered in grease. It is a pity that the Gyu closed at oak Street, as it was excellent. The pics will show the disappointment. To crowded for this type of eating.
