Happy Tree House BBQ Restaurant 木屋炭烤列治文店

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was bland and lacked freshness—some dishes tasted like they had been reheated or made from frozen ingredients. The overall quality was far below standard. Service was equally underwhelming. Staff were inattentive, and it took an unusually long time to place our order and receive our food. When we asked questions or raised concerns, the responses were dismissive and unhelpful.

Some of the skewers we ordered were served almost fully cooled, felt like they were sit there for a while before served.. Taste was average.

Go in, get some meat skewers (Angus beef kebab, lamb special, ox tongue and one bite lu lamb are all great options), get some steamed buns, have a beer, drop $35-40 per person and leave pretty satisfied. Everything was delicious.

Came here before and had a bad experience with service and the servers forced our group to tip more when they did absolutely nothing to deserve a good tip. Tipping is NOT mandatory nor is the amount. Bad service means little to no tip. You don’t force your way to getting a bigger tip. It’s the customers choice.
Thought it was going to be a better experience this time around but we were wrong, however, it took over 25mins to get our first 2 skewers… and everything came every 15-20mins while so many other tables got their skewers so fast. We waited another 15-20mins for our last skewers and the waiters all looked shocked and were doubting us that they gave it to us. They even had to count all of our skewers to see if we were lying. That’s horrible customer service to think we were lying about our skewers and counting them in front of us. They made us feel like thieves. Our group will never be returning here.
Very unimpressed with this visit.

Always Christmas here but delicious food

I ordered the bbq codfish and lamb skewers for takeout on Fantuan, and was highly impressed with the care in the packaging! The food was prepared on time by the time of pickup.

The food was delicious and a great dinner choice if you want to eat at home. I cooked my own quail eggs, but it already comes with black fungus (wooden ear), wide glass noodles, and bean sprouts!

I got the “spicy with peppers” as my soup base 👍

It’s clean and bright. The food is decent, but doesn’t blow your mind away. People can have good conversations here.

Mostly I went for lunch and had the noodles as they were half price for lunch. A lot of things were off the menu. The handmade noodles soup and veggies were very tasty but the meat was chewy. Prices are very reasonable. Decor is basic, they actually still had the Christmas decorations up and this was April! So festive.

Slow service didn’t get what we wanted, waited nearly one hour for our food to be served.

Beef skeewers are tasty, must gice it a good with a beer to top it up!

Ordered a bunch of skewers, lamb hand noodles, and fried anchovy fish. Noodles were the best, quality of the noodles were fantastic. Skewers were honestly not as good as expected. Still good of course but it smelled better than it tasted.

Some of the food was half raw and lukewarm, stomach hurt after. Mediocre service.. this place used to be good but now its quite disappointing actually. Some of the items tasted like they were cooked yesterday and microwaved.

Servers pretended not seeing us…… Feels like I own their money or I did something really wrong

Service here is wonderful I love it, they are so nice and patient however the skewers are so overpriced, I mean it’s good but for 15 skewers that small costing roughly 30$ and not even getting full. I feel like it’s a scam at this point…
