Hong Phat is hands down one of the best spots for Vietnamese food in Richmond! Their hu tieu (#S1) and shaken beef (#F3) are packed with amazing flavor. It’s become my weekly go-to since I moved here. Ohhh their salted cream coffee are addicting!

The broth was clear and tasty, but the clotted blood had an odor that made it hard to eat. Since eating too much broth with MSG causes skin problems, I focused on eating the solids and didn't drink much broth.

FOOD IS SO GOOD! tastes like authentic Vietnamese pho! I feel like they really put their hearts into making the dishes. Been here a couple of times and they never disappoint.
Although, the drink is so so. I still love the food menu!

Tried this restaurant for the first time. The dry noodles were very delicious. My only comment would be that their portion was slightly on the small side given the price point is slightly on the high side for a Vietnamese Restaurant. The rest of our party also enjoyed all their food.
The servers were friendly and attentive. I am looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

I finally tried Hủ Tiếu Hồng Phát, which has only been open for about a week, right after work. I ordered the Signature Seafood Rice Noodle and the Crispy Chicken Leg Egg Noodle Herbal Soup.
Both of the broths were absolutely fantastic. The Signature Seafood soup base is a rich Teochew-style broth featuring fried garlic, celery, minced pork, and pork Cracklings. The other, the Herbal Soup, had a deep, savory flavour that reminded me a little of Bak Kut Teh.
The soups were both so rich and flavourful that the side of crispy fried chicken felt a little bit mild in comparison.
Overall, the broths are the real standout here. I will definitely be going back for another visit!
I'm craving an authentic Nam Vang rice noodle soup and on a biz trip to Richmond, I found Hồng Phát Restaurant that serves exactly what I have been looking for. The place is welcoming with friendly faces, and the food is wonderfully delicious! I ended up ordered 1 rice noodle soup for dine in and another one for take out. :))
The taste surprised me the most as I wasn't expecting much since most of the Vietnamese restaurants here can't guarantee the original taste of flavour, however at Hồng Phát, the taste is still the same as I can remember. Love it and definitely will stop by again everytime I am in the area.
