Disappointing service, particularly from the front counter staff. The attitude felt dismissive and unwelcoming.

very rude waitress Please teach the waiters to be polite.
The service was very poor, especially at the front desk. The staff had the worst attitude, showed no basic courtesy, and the overall experience felt unprofessional. The service completely ruined the visit. The front desk staff clearly need proper training, particularly in customer service and attitude. I would not recommend this place unless the service improves.

We were seated near the entrance, so it felt a bit cold whenever the door opened, and the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. That said, the food really stood out. The tonkatsu and chicken katsu were very tender and not dry at all, and the cheese was nicely stretchy. The ebi was fried well too, though it had a bit more batter than I prefer. Portion sizes were just right for one person, and considering the quality of the food, the price felt reasonable. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back again.

It's a very nice place , though small to have Katsu .
Only problem is they don't take reservations and if the weather is bad , one has to wait outside.

The food here is decent, but the service policy is disappointing. We were refused a to-go box for our leftover vegetables (lettuce/cabbage). It makes no sense to throw away perfectly good food while charging high prices.Especially in this economy. If you aren't going to allow customers to take home what they paid for, you shouldn't offer such large portions. It creates unnecessary waste.

Great spot for katsu! This place serves katsu and offers unlimited miso soup, rice, and salad, which is a huge plus. I ordered the cheese katsu and it was good, the cheese was rich, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the crispy coating. Definitely worth a visit!
I will mention that this restaurant is on the smaller side and is quite busy so there is always a wait list.

Like many of the positive reviews food was really good. I wanted to write about was the customer service. I have a pesnut allergies so when my aunt ordered the curry I asked if there was fish sauce in it. The server then asked if we had a peanut allergy because it turns out the curry has peanut butter in it. I would not have thought to ask because other Japanese curries I've had never had peanut butter. Thank you katsu san for being aware!
This is a definitely must-try in Richmond for katsu and definitely the best in Richmond and one of the best in the metro Vancouver.
As this place is famous, it took a while of waiting time during lunch time. I was told to expect 45min wait but eventually I waited for 30min, that’s not bad.
They offer ample of choice I. The menu and basically you won’t regret to pick any katsu set. Pork katsu and cheese katsu set would be the choice for the first time visitors.
The katsu are made to order so they were freshly fried and serve. Unlimited supply of miso soup, rice and sliced cabbage. The quality was great and maintained. Compared to their rival in Richmond, the price performance is definitely better.
The restaurant has limited seats and tables are packed. It is always better to reserve a table.
