About Shanghai Dumpling King (Richmond)

Shanghai Dumpling King in Richmond offers a lively dining experience with traditional Shanghainese cuisine. The Dumpling King is a must-try, filled with hot soup and flavor. The dry noodle with braised pork chop is phenomenal. Despite some cleanliness issues, such as food bits on the floor and dishware that could be cleaner, the staff is friendly and prompt. The restaurant provides fast service, delicious food, and fair prices. It is a quiet location perfect for a stress-free meal. The menu includes a variety of tasty dishes such as noodles, fried pork chops, wontons, and pot stickers. Popular combo options include the jvlu combo with dumpling king 6pc, curry beef vermicelli soup, and tea egg, priced at $19.50; the fumin combo with dumpling king 6pcs, tiger prawn small wonton 12pcs, and tea egg for $19.99; and the fuxing combo with dumpling king 6pcs, secret stuffing large wonton 6pcs, and tea egg at $21.99. Other notable dishes are the red braised pork belly for $17.95 and the meeting of three, which includes dry noodle with scallion oil, pork chop braised with soy sauce, spicy ground pork, and pickled vegetables and shredded pork, priced at $30.99. The restaurant’s atmosphere is simple and not fancy, but the food is flavorful and satisfying, though it can be a bit oily and heavy. Overall, it’s a good spot to enjoy authentic Shanghainese cuisine, especially the wontons and pork chop, with the understanding that cleanliness and service are not the main focus.

Share your opinion about Shanghai Dumpling King (Richmond)

This place has, by far, the best pork chop/noodle soup, in the entire city. And in a place like Richmond, that is no small feat.

The service is consistently friendly, and the quality remains at top tier, even with the reasonable prices.

Give it a go! Your taste buds will thank you.
Super cute small Shanghai cuisine restaurant, with a simple menu. The most famous item is the fried (soup) dumplings. The noodle is pretty good too. Flavorful taste and reasonable price. Perfect spot for a quick bite, or sharing with families and friends.

Note: Because of its tight space, large group could be challenging. IMHO, groups of 1-4 people might be best.
It's delicious, and it tastes like Shanghai. Occasionally, passing by makes me have another delicious restaurant on my foodie map.
