We tried Kirin Seafood (Dim Sum) in Richmond and found the experience to be just okay. The dining room is quite large and loud, which took away from the atmosphere a bit. The service was perfectly fine, but the food itself wasn’t as flavourful as we’d hoped. Nothing was particularly memorable, and overall it didn’t stand out compared to other dim sum places we’ve visited. We likely wouldn’t return.
Made reservations a month in advance to make sure I was able to get a spot. Showed up at 10am and was seated fairly instantly. This is hands down the best dim sum I've ever had in my life. Take into consideration that I live near san gabriel valley, CA and grew up in San Francisco. It's fairly priced when comparing to USD, but if you're talking straight CAD, it's quite pricey per dish. The taste is well worth it.
We made our order but forgot about informing peanut allergy until a few minutes later. We did tell them and the first dish came with peanut, and the second one came with some peanut paste. My son took a bit of the paste and realized it was peanut, then stopped consuming. Luckily nothing really bad happened. Not entirely their fault but I need to warn you about these for those whom have allergies. Watch out and be careful yourself, don’t rely on others.
