Consistently excellent service from Kitcho Izakaya. The food was delicious as always, top quality and definitely worth the price. Their late night menu starts at 8:30PM, and fresh oysters are just $9 for half a dozen, which is an incredible deal given the freshness. Staff are always attentive, regularly topping up water and tea without needing to be asked.

This is a typical izakaya where it's going to be loud. The service could be a bit more attentive (we had to work hard to flag someone's attention to refill tea).

Food is not bad and pricing is mostly in line with other izakayas. Nothing really to write home about nor necessarily worth returning for. Too many options in the lower mainland and nothing stood out particularly for this meal for us.

Happy hour rates are pretty decent. Oysters in May were nice and plump, and most importantly, fresh. The clams were excellent, to the effect that we ended up ordering both styles.

Steamed egg could be better, and the taco was wasabi was passable, but everything else was great. Strongly recommend the butter bacon corn. It was so good that I finished it before taking a picture.

Very bad experience with this restaurant. I used to go there every month. Now I would never go there ever. First of all, the sashimi was not fresh, got a stomach pain after eating the 65 dollar sashimi dish. Also, the male server was very rude, we had 5 people eating at the table. He only offered one vegetable dish, when we asked for refills, he said he is going to charge us for refills. I would give 0 star if I could.
