We come to Kokoro quite often because of their Classic Mazesoba. It has always been our favorite! The Mazesoba is so flavorful and absolutely delicious. We love the depth of flavors, the chewy noodles, and how well the toppings blend together. Don’t forget to eat the rice after!
We recently discovered that they have changed their menu options. In the past, you could choose the spiciness level of your Mazesoba, and we always went for the mild level because we simply cannot handle too much spice. The mild option was perfect for us, it added just enough heat to keep things interesting without overwhelming our taste buds.
But during our last visit, when our Mazesoba was served, it turned out to be way too spicy for us! We asked our server if the spice level could be adjusted like before, but she informed us that they no longer allow any adjustments. She said the Mazesoba should be mild by default, but it was definitely not mild.
We found it to be a little disappointing because the spiciness really overshadowed the other flavors that we love so much. That’s why I ended up giving it four stars for the food this time, even though I’d usually give it five stars without hesitation. I really hope they bring back the option to choose the spiciness level in the future, it would make the experience so much better for those who do not tolerate high spiciness.
This was a great first experience. The service was friendly and warm. Love the free rice refill for the leftover sauce.
Got 1 classic and deluxe XL classic and they tasted great. The matcha latte was good as well.
The tonkatsu was amazing the little charsiu bowls as well
I really wanted to like it, but it’s the worst takoyaki I’ve ever had. Very greasy, temperature was too high so the outside was very burnt but the batter inside wasn’t cooked. There is an overall grease to the food that is undesirable.
2nd visit: Their Boba is overpriced as hell. There is so much ice and very little of the actual drink. It is like a 1/3rd of the amount you get at a regular Boba place. I was done it in under a minute. When I mentioned it to them, I was given a bit of extra drink without the ice which was nice, but I know it was a one time thing they only did cause I complained and not because they know the true worth of their menu. They gave a measly apology about how the amount is fixed. Do not recommend. Sooooo disappointing.
3rd visit: I got ramen, and part of the ramen noodles was all stuck together in a gross hard and sticky block like they weren't stirred properly when boiled.
I can't believe I actually had that many bad things to say about this place. I wanted to like it. It's like they spent most of their money on buying interior decor and not enough on creating a quality menu and properly training the staff. One of the times, a lady server spilled water from the pitcher on the floor and didn’t clean it up for the entirety of my stay. People just kept on walking by it without seeing it. I don't know why I bothered on returning. I don't think I will again.
$8.45 for this?!?
