Very overpriced for what it is. Would not recommend
Tasty, but the the portions are ridiculously small...not worth $16
Food was good. Portions were on the smaller side.
Looking for quality wonton or beef brisket/tendon noodles? Look no further than Max noodle house
The wonton noodles is very good, soup is tasty and noodle texture is great which keep perfectly original Guandong style. But notice that the original Guandong style wonton noodle portion is small, so it might no enough for men.
Decent Beef Brisket & Wonton Noodle Soup. Portions were a bit small though.
Tiny portion. Do not recommend.
This was my first time dining at this restaurant and had a fantastic experience! We ordered the chicken and black mushroom congee and beef brisket wonton noodle soup. Both were delicious and packed with flavour - I highly recommend! We also tried the chicken wings and pork taro spring rolls on the side. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy, yet juicy on the inside, and the spring rolls were my favourite!
The service was exceptional as well. Every staff member was incredibly welcoming, polite and attentive. I'd be super excited if they opened up a location in Toronto :)
Checked out Max Noodle House to fulfill my girlfriend’s congee craving and it was delicious! Free parking in the area as long as you register your plate on the designated iPad within the restaurant.
I have heard this spot has been a classic for regulars over the last twenty to thirty years and it certainly exudes a great homey vibe.
The chicken congee has a soft, warming, and velvety texture with a balanced taste. We also had the beef brisket noodle soup with shrimp wontons - the brisket was so tender, and the noodle soup was packed with a tasty umami flavour. Highly recommend these two dishes. On the side we also got Chinese donut fried fresh in house as well as chicken wings and taro+pork spring rolls. Out of these, I really enjoyed the spring rolls.
Service was great and the staff were very attendant. Definitely recommend giving this place a try as it might just become your go to congee/wonton spot like it is for so many locals!
The congee base is nice and smooth. The noodle is a bit soft and lukewarm only. Beef brisket and beef tendon is not soft enough. Well, don't think it has anything to do with the Mak noodle franchise in HK. For the money they charged, I would expect better food.

Came here with high expectations.
And disappointing to say it's just average.
Not close to anything like HK😭
I don’t mind the price if it’s good but honestly, it’s nothing special. Super overrated!
Portions are extremely small for the price. Doesn’t taste like much except salt. The staff aren’t that friendly ether.
Portions of food were very small.
Updated 2025.01.24. Ordered the wuntun and dumpling combination soup, I liked the wuntun better than the dumplings. Seasonal Vegetable with Oyster Sauce ordered, tasted alright. Taro Spring Rolls were hot, crispy exterior. Clay pots only available from 17:30-19:30, and requires 30 minutes for preparation. No WiFi, cash only, register your car license upon entering to avoid parking issues. Wednesdays-Mondays 11:00-20:00.
I have been going here for a long time.
Hidden little gem of a place for super authentic HK food.
The noodle soup has all the subtle things in place to remind you of HK. From the subtle alkaline taste on the soup, to the perfectly thin egg noodles. 100% accurate .. down to the serving size, which is microscopic to our standards in Canada.
I always come here for noodles, but the fried tofu and chicken wings are notable as well.
The iced lemon tea as well has that unique syrupy taste to it.
One gripe I have is, omg price went up di much. A noodle, a lemon tea and a chicken wings — that was a $40 affair right there lol.
