The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are very friendly.
I definitely want to come back here with my girlfriend next time.
Ora Sushi is a cute little spot in the heart of Steveston Village and has all of the usual Japanese fare with a few “wow” items for the adventurous! I had a craving for udon, and the beef yakiudon did not disappoint! They have a respectable sushi selection of rolls, sashimi and nigiri.
Great food and service as always !
Miso was perfect, great service, all the rolls we ordered were great. Prices are far better than other places like Ichiro, the only better place I'd reckon is mega sushi.
Food is good. Almost always understaffed but you can see they are trying their best.
Going downhill. Used to be great, but not sure if ownership has changed or ? We ordered last week. We were told 25 minutes for pick up, we were there on time, got the food home and everything was barely room temperature. The only thing good was the cold chicken yakitori, everything else was mediocre at best. The volcano roll used to be a favorite but this time the rice was obviously overcooked and glued together, the tempura salmon was dry and minimal. We thought we would give it a try again this weekend and we asked for extra wasabi and for ginger to be put on a in a side container rather than with the sushi. We got home, not only was there no extra wasabi. There was no wasabi or ginger at all! When we called to advise of this, the manager said “maybe we made a mistake“ and what would I like her to do for us. I said I would like you to deliver my wasabi and ginger. She yelled at me and went on about the fact that The person who took the order is only in grade 12 and he could make a mistake. After being on the phone for almost 10 minutes she finally said she would make us another role next time. There will not be a next time.
Came here randomly with our 2 youngest kids while our son was at a soccer showcase. The kids insisted that we leave a review because they loved it so much…. And I quote..
“Yum yum in my tum tum” 😂
Everything was fresh and delicious ! We sat right by the window, cute little spot! Will definitely be back.
Very disappointed with food quality. I have ordered from thos place years ago and their quality has declined significantly and their prices have increased. Food was cold, chicken Teri don was soggy.
Servers are very friendly. And food comes quiet fast. I will come back for sure.
Came here to try despite off reviews. Came in and was just stared at by this young man, as I said for 2, he said anywhere is fine. We sat for good 15 minutes waiting for him to come back and take our order, but he was too busy flirting with the lady who also works here. The store was not busy. 5 minutes more finally I waved my hand until the lady noticed me but decided to attend to the group that just came in. I am not white, but anyone deserves to be treated like anyone else. I can pay too and tip if deserved. We left with no hesitation.
Restaurantji Recommends
Just don’t bother with anything tuna, essentially like raw chicken. Better to go somewhere else in steveston. Dynamite roll was okay though.
The food was decent but not the best. The portion sizes were also good for the price.
The service was lacking. Unfriendly staff, that didn’t even know the menu. We asked what was in a specific dish and the waiter didn’t know. We had to ask for even water when we arrived and no one came to ask whether our food was okay while we were eating.
The restaurant was almost empty when we were there as well.
My first time eating here and I loved it 🫶
The existing reviews are unfair. The service was perfectly fine, the food quite good and fresh (I liked their spicy yam and my partner has a hard time finding the Philly roll with lots of cream cheese; they do it properly) and the pricing totally reasonable for a tourist town with high-end sushi places demanding $150+ just to eat. Give them a chance!
Add to the list of many of the mediocre but high priced restaurants at Steveston Village. DO NOT EAT HERE! A family of 4 with 2 children came to $120 after tips. The food was just plain bad. I ordered the $28 Chirashi Don (sashimi on rice). The very limited sashimi I get are literally paper thin. All were thinner than a piece of regular smoked salmon. (See photo) Even the cheapest tamago (cooked egged) was just the corner about 1/6 of a regular piece. The sushi also had paper thin salmon on it and was cut incorrectly. The maki falls apart. The rice was overly warm and had not been flavored with rice vinegar. My wife ordered the baked oyster and was cold and in a puddle of water. Every dish was terrible and it costed me $120. The service was decent but was extremely slow. I sat at the table for 15 mins before I even get a glass of water. I almost walked out. However, they were understaffed so I understand.
