Searching around Richmond for another roaster for pour/espresso coffee. Found this place with good reviews and decided to try their most expensive beans the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.
The business seems to cater heavily towards commercial use as their Medium Roast is borderlining Dark Roast. Which makes sense as to consolidate the flavour by roasting darker.
I looked at the bag and found the Best before Date to be Oct of 2026. With the standard 2 year rule, I assumed the bag was roasted oct of 2024. Curious I asked the lady at the desk if this has been roasted about a year ago and she said definently not, it was replenished a week ago.
I brewed a Japanese iced pour over, a regular hot pour over, and an espresso shot. Hot Pour over was not bad, tiny hints of citrus, mostly masked by the dark roasting though not too bitter. Iced pour over is not recommanded. Espresso was ok, very little crema which tells me the beans are not freshly roasted.
The coffee is suitable for commercial use and not suitable for coffee enthusiast looking for those special notes from different regions. Evenly match against grocery store beans. Some better some worse.
Wonderful coffee. Really helpful staff.
Thank you!
The coffee provided in the Listel Hotel was excellent. Only available in BC.
Great for wholesale
Fantastic coffee!
Pretty damn good, and if you love Breka's coffee, this is why. They use Pedro's coffee.
One of the best Vanilla Lattes I’ve had in quite a while. Nice folks running the place. Also had the Morning Glory muffins - excellent!!
Excellent coffee! Better than any grocery store of coffee shop. For the amount you receive compared to what you pay, the savings are unreal. Been buying from them for 8 years, and have never looked back. The Viennese Blend is my go to! The best value is to buy the 5lb bag.
My go to coffee roasters in Vancouver used to be Pallet and Parallel 49.But then I tried Pedro's...Great quality, unpretentious, organic coffee. They are priced better as well. I can't think of any reason not to give them 5 stars.I've tried different beans from them for espresso, drip, Americano, and latte and they've all been amazing.
The BEST coffee! I don't know what I did before Pedro's. Such a smooth taste and it's nice knowing the coffee I am enjoying was ethically sources and used sustainable practices.
Restaurantji Recommends
I love pedros coffee. the beans r the best tasting beans ever. I go to breka just to get pedros.
I love this coffee! I definitely am a coffee freak and this is the only one I can drink. I also appreciate that it is sustainably sourced and organic. Pick this up next time you see it!
Just when you thought coffee was coffee l was totally wrong the coffee from Pedro’s is absolutely and simply amazing thank you for a truly magnificent taste l now brew this at home 5 stars + from me thank you
I love their coffee! Especially the Highlander espresso beans. They have quite a selection and I was quite impressed with different blends of coffee they offer. I would highly recommend this place to people who know good coffee and cannot do without it.
